Also in Japan, the school system is different from America. Elementary school goes through grades 1-6. Jr. high goes through grades 7-9 and high school goes through grades 10-12.
Words:
Hai: Yes (It can also mean here or coming, but I’m using it for yes).
Ohayou: morning
Ne: It depends where you put it in the sentence. If it’s in the being it means hey, but it’s at the end with a question mark it mean right. It’s like how we say huh? at the end of our sentence when we want people to agree.
Oi: also means hey.
Gomen: Either sorry or I’m sorry.
Ja ne: See ya.
“Hmmmm I hope sensei was right about this,” says the alien and holds up a crystal jewel. “Please let this be the right place.” Then jewel starts to glow white. “Yes!” He flies off into city.
He watches the jewel very closely. Kaze files into a suburb and lands down on a house that the jewel most reacts to. “This better be the right place….shit these people are sleep. I guess I’ll have to wait until morning.”
The next morning, a girl is sleeping in her bed. You can hear an alarm clock echoing in the background. She rolls out bed and hits the floor. “Oww!” she yells.
She stands up and walks over to her alarm clock. “Oh, my god I’m going to be late!” She turns it off and quickly gets dress.
Hi I’m Shino Anzu. I’m fourteen years old and I’m in the eighth grade. I have long thick brown hair and green eyes. My skin is a normal tone of color, but it doesn’t tan very easily. I mostly get sun burns.
Anzu walks over to her dresser and looks at the mirror above it. Anzu grabs a hair piece and ties her hair up into a pigtail. Once that’s done, Anzu puts her socks on and goes downstairs.
I am very cheerful, optimistic, and very polite. I love to have fun and I’m very loving. I’m also very ditzy clumsy, and cry when I don’t get my way. One more thing, I am very bad school and never make me angry or call me short.
Anzu walks into her family and finds her school bag sitting on the couch. “There it is,” she says herself.
She walks over it to and is about to pick it up, but her older bother Haku grabs it. Anzu just stands there with her mouth open.
“Oi, shrimp looking for this?” he asks her with a smirk on his face. He is very tall with red hair and brown eyes. His skin color is the same as Anzu.
“Onii-chan, give that back!” She yells at him.
“I might if you call me Onii-sama,” he says.
“I don’t think so!” she tries to grab the bag, but he lifts it up out of her reach and makes her fall to the floor. “Oww…”
“Well, I guess you won’t get it back then, shrimp.”
She stands up and says, “Please, Onii-chan give it back or I’ll be late for school.”
“Why? You hate school.”
Anzu tries to kick him, but he doges her and she falls to floor again. “I guess I’ll give it back for all your effort.” He throws the school bag back on the couch and walks away.
Anzu gets up and grabs her bag. “Why couldn’t I been an only child?”
She walks out the room into a hallway. Anzu sits down near the door and starts to put on her shoes. “Mom, I’m leaving!”
Her mother walks in. She looks a lot like Haku, but her skin is pale. “You’re not going to eat breakfast?” she asks.
“I can’t be late for school,” she answers. Anzu stands up and leaves.
“Honestly that girl confuses me sometimes,” she says and goes upstairs to her bedroom to get ready for work.
Anzu starts to run down the sidewalk in the direction of her school.
That was my mom and my bother. I love them very much. My bother always picks on me, but I know he loves me. He also very overprotected when I’m around boys. My mom is very kind and loving, but can very scary when she gets angry. She’s a college professor at Tokyo University. She teaches Science, but I’m not sure in what area.
You’re probably wondering about my father……..I really don’t like to talk about it, but all I’m saying is that he died when I was ten years old.
Anzu reaches the end of the sidewalk and stops. “I hope I didn’t miss him.” She looks around and sees no one. “I guess I’ll just wait and see”
She stands there for awhile, but decides to leave. She really doesn’t want to be late. Her teacher will very upset at her and make her stand in the hallway.
As she’s walking, Anzu hears a voice calling her name. She stops and turns around. She sees a boy running and begins to blush.
He stops next to her. “Sorry for making you wait for me,” he says. The boy looks a little older than Anzu. He has light brown hair and blue eyes. His skin color is tan.
“It’s okay, Tsukamoto-san,” says Anzu.
“I told you not to call me that. You can call me Kusa.”
“Hai, T…Kusa-kun,” she say quietly.
“I guess that will work. Come on or we’ll be late,” he says and starts walking away.
Anzu follows him.
That’s Tsukamoto Kusa. He lives two doors down from my house. He’s one year older than me and is in the ninth grade. Also, he goes to a different jr. high school.. We’ve been friends since we were little, but he stopped talking to me when he entered the fifth grade. As you can he see he’s talking to me again, but I always wonder why he ignore me and then act like it never happen and be all friendly. Oh, well that’s boys for ya.
“Well, this is my stop,” says Kusa.
“Huh?” asks Anzu in daze voice.
“We’re at my school.”
“Oh yeah,” she says and laughs nervously.
“Ja ne, Anzu,” he says and starts to head towards his school’s front door.
“Wait,” says Anzu.
He looks back at her and says, “What?”
“I can we walk home together after school?” she asks in a hopeful tone of voice.
“Sorry, but I have soccer practice right after school.”
“Oh,” she says in a disappointed voice.
“Don’t worry maybe we can tomorrow,” he says with an encouraging smile on his face.
“Ok.”
“Bye,” says Kusa and goes inside his school.
Anzu just sighs and stares at his school. She hits her head on the school’s fence. “Why can’t tell I…..”
Her school’s bell cuts her off by ringing very loudly. Anzu realizes she’ll be late and runs off.
She quickly enters the building and goes to her shoe locker. Once she’s done putting her school shoes on, Anzu hurries on upstairs to her classroom.
“Ohayou,” says Anzu as she enters the room.
“Ohayou,” the class says back.
“Anzu-chan,” says one her friends.
“Harima-san,” says Anzu.
“I told you to call me Kimi-chan.”
“Gomen, you know that I worry about offending someone.”
“Will you stop that?” she asks in annoyed voice.
“It’s habit,” she answers. Anzu can’t help it. Her father always taught her to be polite to other people.
“Whatever,” her friends says and sits down at her desk.
Anzu also sits down at her desk which is next to Kimi’s. “Are you mad at me?”
“No, I’m just in a grumpy mood. My little bother thought it would be funny to wake me up by jumping on me,” she answers.
“Oh….”
“So, Anzu-chan did you ask him?”
“Ask who?”
Kimi hits her head with her hand. “You are such a ditz sometimes. I’m talking about Tsukamoto-san.”
“Oh….umm no…,” she says shyly.
“Anzu-chan, when are you going to ask him out? I know he’ll say yes.”
“Do you really think he will?”
Kimi nods her head. “It’s so obvious that he likes you.”
“I guess,” says Anzu and puts her head down on the desk. For about a year in half she’s been trying to tell Kusa how she feels, but either she gets too shy or something interrupts her. There are days where she wants to give up, but Kimi won’t let her.
After school, Anzu is walking slowly towards her house. She’s hoping her mom has night class tonight so she doesn’t have to show her test grade in math.
As she’s walking, Anzu notices a black light hitting the park and sees people running away. Anzu being very curious, so she goes to investigate.
She starts to run towards the park, but while she’s running a white cat jumps on her shoulder. Anzu jumps in surprise and falls to the ground.
“I finally got up to you Anzu,” it says.
Anzu eyes grow big and she quickly stands up which cause the cat to fall.
“Ow! You could have given me a fair warning.”
“How…How…How…can you talk?” she asks very nervously.
The cat was about to answer, but a shadow ball knocks him into a lamp post.
“You think can win Kaze?” asks boy.
Anzu turns around and sees a pale boy with black hair and eyes. He walks past her and picks up Kaze. Then he mutters something under is breath and then the cat begins to glows black.
Anzu doesn’t know what’s going on, but she has to do something. She picks up a rock off the ground and throws it at the boy’s ear.
He drops Kaze and looks at her. “Why you bitch.”
Anzu just runs off as fast as she can. While she’s running, Anzu approaches her destination.
Anzu stops when she sees a hideous shadow looking monster attacking people. It sees Anzu and goes after her.
Anzu freezes up in fear and can’t move. Right when the monster was going to attack her, a gust wind blows her into some bushes.
Anzu stands up and sees the same cat from earlier sitting in front of her. “What do you want and what the heck is going on?” she asks in a stressed out voice.
“My name is Kaze and I need your help. Please expect this,” he says and hands her the jewel he was using from before.
“Uh thank you,” she says and takes it from his paw. Then the jewel glows and a short stick appear in front of her. It’s purple and at the top it has two white wings. In the center of the stick there’s a white crystal.
“Hurry up and transform, Anzu!” Kaze yells at her.
Anzu looks at it. “How do I do that?”
“It will come to you!” Kaze then runs off to try to fight the monster.
Anzu holds the stick up and yells, “ELMENTAL CRYSTAL POWER TRANSFORMATION!” Anzu glows purple and transforms into an element alien. She has white hair with a purple hair band. The hair goes to her waist and curls at the bottom. Also her eyes are purple.
Anzu’s outfit has a sleeveless purple jacket with white shirt underneath. She has a white mini skirt and has purple fingerless gloves. Also her boots are purple with white shoelaces.
“What’s going on!” yells Anzu in confusion.
“I’ll explain later just hurry up and attack!” Kaze shouts back.
Anzu just stands there. She has no idea what to do. It just everything is happening to fast for her to comprehend.
“Anzu!” Kaze yells at her. He’s having a hard time attacking the monster in that cat form.
“I..” Anzu gets knock into a tree by a shadow ball before she could finish her sentence.
The boy who attacked Kaze walks up and looks very angry. “You think you can get away little girl?”
“Little…,” she mutters to herself in anger.
He just ignores her and turns to Kaze and says, “Baka, do you really think finding them will really help beat my master? Your pathetic you know that.” He snaps his fingers and the monster goes still. “Well, I’ll take my leave for now. I doubt you’ll be able to train her in that condition.” He and the monster disappear.
Anzu stands up and walks up to Kaze. “Ummm can you please tell me what’s going?”
Kaze doesn’t answer. He looks really upset. “Yami….,” he says quietly to himself.
Anzu bops him on the head. “Hello, earth to kitty.”
“Don’t hit me and my name is Kaze,” he snaps at her.
“Sorry.”
“That’s okay. I guess I owe you explanation, ne?”
“Yeah.”
“Well, let’s go back to your house,” he says and starts to walk away.
“Wait!” she quickly follows him. “Can I ask one question?”
“What is it?”
“Are you a talking cat or..”
“No, I’m really an element alien. My people can shape shift into anything we want. That guy who attacked us is also from my planet, but somehow he gained the power to use magic. He put a curse on me which makes me unable to transform back into my normal form,” he answers her by cutting her off.
“Oh, but why didn’t you come to me as yourself?”
“I didn’t want to scare you away. I been watching you all day and got a feeling that you would scare easily.”
“I don’t frighten easily,” she says.
“I wish I would know that earlier.”
“I have another question,” says Anzu who is trying to change the subject. She feels bad for him.
“What is it?” he asks.
“How to do I turn back to normal?” Anzu is still in her Element Alien form.
“Umm think about it?”
“Okay.” Anzu closes her eyes and glows white. She turns back into human.
“Now, let’s go. I’ll explain everything else once we get to your house,” he says and continues to walk.
Anzu stands there for minute and looks up at the sky. ‘I guess I’m not an average girl anymore,’ she thinks to herself.
