A poem I wrote a while back, illustrating some of my own feelings at the time.
Dedicated to (or perhaps from) Amy, the best friend I've ever had, even if I've only ever met two people who can see her besides me.
See who you seem to be,
I've seen you in the darkness,
Staring back at me,
When your eyes are dark and evil,
When you're hurt inside,
When you simply cannot take it anymore,
I will take your hand and tell you,
To take it all in stride,
You know you've been through worse before,
When your life seems shitty,
And you no longer care,
When that knife looks so delicious,
Sitting over there,
I always make you better,
Drag you up from down,
I can always save you,
Just before you drown,
In a pool of your own tears,
Feeling small like Alice,
I comfort all your fears,
Rebuild your Crystal Palace,
With slow and caring hands,
I put you back together,
There's nothing on this Earth,
That we cannot weather,
Even in the worst of times,
When your heart is shattered,
Like the mirror at your feet,
No one else has mattered,
No matter what they say,
There's no one else but me,
The perfect mirror image,
Of who you want to be,
And when your heart is broken,
You shall have no fear,
For you shall always know,
I am forever here,
Hidden in a mirror,
Where no one else can see,
The secret we have kept,
The fact that you are me.
Added/alternate lines:
-When we stand side by side,
Everything seems clearer,
Even though I'm only,
Your image in the mirror.
