Quiet desperation overtakes

Even the watchful

For when you close your

Eyes, in that quick second,

All that you were

And might have been

Is stolen from you

And still you lay

In a quiet

In a motionless pool

Waiting for a sign

Debating the end

And contemplating the plans

A distant yearning develops

Even the resilient

For when you completely let

Go, if only for a second,

The wants flush in

And the longing screams

‘Cause you’ve waited

And lifeless you lay

In a stupor

In a vacant trance

Asking for a sign

Demanding aid from anyone

And allowing none to come in
