A/N: This is my first story. I've been working on it off and on as a "starting" point in evolving my ideas. I've had this posted on other sites, hopefully I'll get some more direction. Any reviews would be appreciated. I know there are probably going to be some grammar or spelling mistakes even though I've been attempting to groom it. I'd like to know what fellow authors and readers think about my characters and descriptions.
Prologue
Romania, A Castle High in the Carpathian MountainsHe sat back in his chair, looking out over the large castle courtyard and wall that lay before him. He was King to it all. He smiled joylessly at the fact, it made little to no difference now. The world he now lived in was nothing like that of which he’d been born to. After over two hundred thousand years, he knew the only distraction he now had was looking for HER. She’d proved to be a worthy adversary in her elusiveness. He’d spent the better part of the last thousand years of his life having his most trusted men try and locate her. Everything had proven fruitless; all of the information would lead them to believe that she was dead. He of all people knew better. She was no mortal being, just like he. To think that this girl had once been on the verge of becoming princess to his empire, and to think that now he was choosing to make her Queen to it.
He chuckled at the ebb and flow of life. One moment he wanted her father and everyone she held dear, including her, dead. Now he was choosing to include her into his life, his fortune, and his power. He felt the footsteps leading toward his door. He wondered what dead-end they’d come across again in the search of the Giovanni girl. He’d become accustomed to his sources coming back empty handed. “Come in Samuel…” he said, still facing the large glass window behind his desk. The young-looking man with dark black hair opened the door to his sire’s room and stepped in, closing it behind him. “Well? What have you found?” he asked in a rather nonchalant tone.
“Sire, we have found her. She indeed runs a business from the United States. It is under the name Giovanni.” Samuel said in a rather relieved tone. It was true, they’d spent far too much time looking for this girl in his opinion, but it was not his mind or opinion that mattered in the subject, it was his Sire’s.
The gentleman in charge, a man who by both old and modern standards would be thought of as handsome, and beautiful at once smiled, his bright green eyes glowing with anticipation, “Good. I want you to do all that is necessary to bring her back to Romania. Make sure you make a suitable plan; I do not want her family to find out about this. It will be difficult enough to convince her without having her crass father involved.”
Samuel bowed, “Yes Sire, would you like me to take anyone else with me on this?”
“Yes, take Marius and Alexander with you. She will be a handful.” The King replied, turning his chair to face Samuel. “Do not fail Samuel.” Samuel nodded and bowed once more, taking his leave.
The king of the Brushia turned back toward the large window, watching the sunset in the horizon. The night awaited him, awaited his exploration. He had a fresh outlook again. His will would be obeyed and he would have the one person who hated him more than anyone could possibly understand. He would tame her, enthrall her, and make her, his own. His fangs unsheathed slowly at the thought, “I wonder if she will remember me…”
