By Kate Melnik

I look through the crowds

For you

You meet my eyes,

We grab hold of each other’s hands

Afraid that if we let go we would lose each other,

Forever

We lie in the grasses staring at the stars,

Our fingers grasp,

Our eyes meet,

Our hearts touch,

What one cannot explain is the friendship that holds us true.

It is maybe more then love

To have such a friend…

Then

A knife dashes,

A heart races,

Our hands lose each other in the horror,

I run, but cannot find you,

You look, but cannot see me,

Lost… forever?

Our hearts find each other through the confusion

Our hearts touch what we cannot touch,

Our hearts see what we cannot see,

Forever we remain connected in heart

By something more than love,

By our friendship…
