Heed not her words, oh wanderer bold,
Beware who strives to dark lands cold –
For sooner come cruel hands of fate
To snatch and guide you to her bait.
Turn back on built paths, wild and grim
Ere darkness comes and gray skies dim –
No sheltered place will come to aid
When all light falters and stars fade.
Oh soldier brave, hold back your fear
And know your heart in dimness sheer –
For all who on such quest embark
Must keep to courage through the dark.
Withdraw from terror and despair
See not the vile charms of her lair –
Within her web do not turn back
For shadows fall upon your track.
And should a soul fall to defeat
Within her maze and her deceit –
Look from her face and from her eyes
Lest you should fall to your demise.
For icy flames throughout her blaze
As fires burn in her charmed gaze –
And flowing garments in sleep twine
To mask foul motives and malign.
Hence hear my words, oh daring one
Should all brave causes come undone –
Return from paths that perils trail
Lest all goes down to no avail.
