Chapter 15, Ghost Hunting and Being Hunted
As usual, Kaz woke up in the morning and got ready. He didn’t bother thinking about what career he would explore today. He looks at the electronic calendar that rested on his desk by the computer.
“Wow… This month is going by fast… There are only 4 more days before it is over… And I have how many careers to explore to go…?” Kaz thought.
He was already at his closet, looking for something to wear. He didn’t care what he should wear because it was becoming frustrating to wear something different for ever class. He stopped searching and just walked to his bathroom. He starts brushing his teeth. He suddenly felt guilty about something.
“I shouldn’t tell Mr. Momona about the book, even though I feel guilty for not telling him… If I tell him, it could get him into trouble anyway… And, I might end up getting into BIG trouble… It’s one thing if Mei took out the book for research purposes, but it’s another thing if she gave it to me… I wonder how long I can have the book… Well, knowing elves, they can probably take out a book for as long as they want. Probably months at a time…” Kaz thought in satisfaction.
He walks out of his bathroom after doing his teeth and face. He sees Shiri is still sleeping, and he stares at it on the bed.
“But, I never knew Shiri was not the only kind of its own species… But, the funny thing is that Shiri’s species didn’t have a specific name nor is its home planet name is known… Furthermore, Shiri’s home planet location is unknown and it is unknown if Shiri’s companions and such are still alive… But, Shiri species don’t hatch from eggs, they are born ‘naturally’ like mammals… But, why did Shiri hatch from an egg….?” Kaz asked himself in his thoughts.
He walks to his chair and sits in it as he continued to stare at Shiri, lost in his thoughts.
“Shiri is different compared to the rest of its species- the other RAWKS… Shiri has a green gem rested upon its head. The paintings I saw of the other RAWKS didn’t have a green gem upon their heads… They had the wings, ears, and had the same cat like features, but there was not one single one with a gem rested upon its forehead… Some of them had different fur colors, but that doesn’t really matter to me… I want to know about the green gem and why Shiri hatched from an egg instead of being born naturally…? I don’t get it… Where do I go from here…? If the RAWKS home planet is unknown- the location and the name of it, how can I search for something if I don’t know where to search or how…?” He thought as he looked down in depression.
“What is there to do…?”
He looks away from the floor and looks at his computer monitor.
“I would go talk to that guy… But, ever since that day with Team INFINITE- I have been having bad feelings with that hooded guy… He was good at giving information too… Who should I go to? Not the library or anyone here at the school… What can I do!?” Kaz thought as he put one of his hands on each side of his head to ‘shut out’ his thoughts.
Just as he was about to literally explode in rage, his door opened. There at his door was Mr. Momona of course.
“Y-You didn’t knock…”
“Huh? Oh, sorry about that! I forgot too…” He said with a chuckle.
Kaz just sighs at his reply and shakes his head.
“So, what career is it today?”
“It’s Ghost or Soul Hunter… You are not required to wear specific clothes for the class, but you will have a very hard time in it…”
“What do you mean…?”
“Well, your sixth sense might be too low for you to be able to see ghosts. Heck, you will not be able to communicate with ghosts.”
“What!? I was able to do it in the other class! Um, Shaman! Why can’t I see or communicate with ghosts or souls now!?”
“Well, that class is different compared to ghosts. As a Shaman, you can see the ghost or spirit either way. A shaman can let their soul leave their body and communicate with a spirit easily. They can talk to a spirit without them leaving their bodies and the same for ghosts. However, the difference between that class and this one is that shamans don’t deal with ghosts… They deal with spirits only. Ghosts are spirits that have turned bad. In other words, the spirits became enraged about their death and don’t understand why they died. They don’t accept the fact that they are dead and they lose their minds. They lose their personality and so on. Since they are not their ordinary self, they would turn into ghosts. Ghosts are what some people see that do wicked things inside a house. In other words, they don’t want to leave their home planet to rest at ‘The Spirit World’. A Ghost or Soul Hunter would use their sixth sense to be able to see and communicate with the ghost. Ghost or Hunters don’t let their spirits leave their body. You were able to see spirits because you were a spirit yourself. If you weren’t, you might not have been able to see it. Although, maybe after the experience, your sixth sense could have went up a little… To test your sixth sense, I have bought a ‘friend’ here to see if you can see spirits or ghosts.” Mr. Momona explained.
He opens the door further and familiar face walked into Kaz room. Kaz smiled at the man.
“Tomur!”
Tomur smiled at Kaz.
“Hello Kaz, how have you been?”
“Fine! But, what are you doing here?”
“Kaz, remember what I told you about what I use to cook?”
Kaz nods his head.
“Yeah, someone that is a legendary cook, why?”
“Then, do you see anyone near me?” Tomur asked.
Kaz looked at Tomur as if he was crazy. But, none the less, he looked around Tomur for anything. Not to his surprise, he didn’t see anything or anyone near Tomur except for Mr. Momona.
“Tomur… I don’t see anyone or anything… What are to trying to do…?”
Tomur nods his head at his answer and looked at Mr. Momona.
“It seems that he will need to use that special item after all…”
Mr. Momona nods his head in agreement.
“Yeah, thank you Tomur. You may return to your work.”
Tomur bows slightly before he turned around to leave. Kaz stands up from his seat.
“Wait! Where are you going? What did I do wrong?” Kaz asked.
Without him turning to look at Kaz, he kept walking and waved a hand goodbye to him before he disappeared.
Kaz sighs in disappointment before he looked at Mr. Momona.
“What did I do wrong?”
“You didn’t do anything wrong. It’s just a test to see if you could see spirits or ghosts…”
“What? But I thought ghosts are evil.”
“That’s true. But, in this case, it is called a ghost because it no longer lives in the spirit world and it is being controlled by a human, a shaman in this case. Spirits are free willed in ‘The Spirit World’, but their will is ‘taken’ away after they are taken out of ‘The Spirit World’ by a shaman. Depending on the shaman personality or behavior, the actions of the spirit are no longer due to him or her. Their actions are being controlled by the shaman. Unless, the spirit is very strong willed, it will not be controlled. But, if the spirit’s will is ‘low’, it can be controlled easily. Kind of like a weak minded person being manipulated by those that are very intelligent or sly. The spirit would not be considered as a ghost exactly, but it called a ghost in a different way. Ghost in that sense means that it is being controlled. Like the ghosts that are ‘evil’. They are being controlled by their emotions and somewhat have no idea what they are doing is wrong… Understand?”
Kaz nods his head slowly.
“Yeah… I think I get it… I think…”
Mr. Momona sighs in relief.
“Well, don’t worry about it too much Kaz…”
“Well anyway, Mr. Momona, what did Tomur mean that I have to use a special item?”
“It’s better for me to give it to you then tell you.”
Mr. Momona reaches into his pocket and took out a set of contact lens. Kaz looked at it and looked back at Mr. Momona in confusion.
“Contact lens? How is that special?”
“These are not your normal type contact lens. These contact lens are clear and can make you see ghosts and spirits. In the past, when shamans and ghost or soul hunter was introduced into the ‘CFL’ school system, they couldn’t see ghosts or spirits at the time. Back then, the formula for either careers did not increase their 6th sense like today. So, what they were given was contact lens that could help them see ghosts or spirits. They are no longer used, but we still keep a few hundred or so just in case something happens.” Mr. Momona explained.
Kaz takes the lens from his palms and looks at them. He walks to his bathroom and puts them on. When he put them on, he looks at himself in the mirror. His eyes still looked brown, but they looked faded. The contact lens made his eyes look scary somewhat. They were covered a little by white now. He walks out of his bathroom and looks at Mr. Momona. He saw his eyes and laughed a little nervously.
“Opps… I must have grabbed the ones that are white instead… So, your eyes will look a little white…”
Kaz shrugs his shoulders.
“It’s quite alright… It could scare my enemies away.” Kaz said with a smile.
Mr. Momona laughed at his comment and nods his head.
“Alright, if you say so.”
Kaz quickly walks to his closet to get anything to wear. He was in the mood to wear clothes that was all black and made people feel gloomy. To his surprise, he found the perfect set of clothes to wear. He runs to his bathroom to get dressed. Mr. Momona sits on his bed and waits for him to come out. Shiri just woke up and jumped on the floor to stretch. Kaz came out a few minutes later. He wore a long jacket that was like a cloak and a cape at the same time. Over his head was a hood that was part of the jacket, strings dangled from the side of the hood. He wore gloves that had the picture of scythes on the them. Kaz wore pants that were very similar to what he wore before, except there were no chains dangling here or there around it. He wore a long sleeve shirt that was somewhat tight. If Kaz was muscular, his muscles would be showing. On his back, to Mr. Momona surprise, was a big scythe. He looked like the Grim Reaper.
“Is what you are wearing supposed to say something?” Mr. Momona asked nervously.
“What do you mean by that? Don’t you get it? If I am a ghost or soul hunter, for today and tomorrow, don’t you think this fits well for such as class? I am in ‘charge’ of the dead. Get it?”
Mr. Momona nods at his philosophy.
“Whatever you want Kaz…”
Just then, Kaz watch began to glow. Shiri floats up to him and lands on his head like usual. The two matched perfectly. Just then, Kaz was teleported to the classroom- or so he thought. He looks around at his surroundings and realized he was outside, on top of a building on the roof. It was dark outside with only the full moon lighting up everything. Next to him stood a student that was probably also a ghost or soul hunter. As he looked around some more, there were other students standing around by someone. It looked like each student was paired with someone as a partner. The other students were standing on other buildings that were around the same size Kaz was currently standing on. In the middle, stood a man that he assumed was the teacher for the class. What Kaz didn’t understand was why it was dark outside when he just woke up for the first class of the day. Before he could ask any questions, the teacher spoke.
“Welcome back students. Today all of you will go ghost hunting on your own and for as long as you like. Each of you has been teleported next to a fellow classmate. That student next to you will be your partner. I don’t care if you hate them or not, but that person will be your partner. This is for safety reasons. Although staff members will be watching over you, this is for cautious reasons my students. Remember, if you see anything strange or meet anyone too strong for you, run for it… Don’t be stupid and fight the person or thing head on, it could cost you your life…” The teacher explained.
The teacher looks around with his eyes and saw Kaz. He turns to face him completely.
“Oh yes! You must be the new student for today and tomorrow, correct?”
Kaz nods his head in reply.
“Well then, you are obviously inexperienced with ghost or soul hunting. But, I don’t have to worry much since you are partners with my top student in this class. Just try to keep up with him okay?”
Kaz nods his head. He looks next to him to look at the student. The student wore a sleeveless shirt that was black and gloves that completely covered his hands and fingers. He wore pants that were very loose and circular that made it look like some kind of kimono, but not really at the same time. His watch was around his neck, which instantly reminded him of Sarah. His hair was short and spiky all over. In the front, there were two bangs over his forehead. His hair looked black, but when Kaz looked close enough, it was actually dark brown. The student smiled at him.
“Yo! My name is Peqven Bock. How are you, um-”
“Kaz…”
“-Kaz!?” He finished.
“I’m fine thanks…”
“Since we are going ghost hunting, it would be best if you try to stay close behind me. Otherwise you could seriously get hurt and I would be responsible for it.”
Kaz nods his head.
“Don’t worry about me. I have shurikens with me… Although I’m not sure what if it can help me much here…”
“Oh don’t worry, it will help a lot more then you think…” Peqven said.
The teacher continued.
“All of you can start whenever you want. The longest I can make your ‘quest’ is 2 days. Whoever does the best will be rewarded with a special item. Don’t forget, all of your watches keep count of how many ghosts you have taken care of and so on.” The teacher quickly explained.
“Are there any questions before I say ‘Start’?”
“Yes Mr. Eon… What happen if we don’t come back after 2 days?” A student asked.
“Don’t say such a thing. First off, it will not happen because you are still being monitored. You and your partner are both being watched by certain staff members. We will know if something is going on with you or not. The only way we can’t know is if your watch is off of you completely or the program that we use has malfunctioned. But, even if such a thing happened, we will go out looking for all of you right away. Especially in the area that you was at just a second ago.” Mr. Eon explained.
The student nods her head.
“Now then, are there any other questions?”
Nobody raised their hands.
“Good! Then let the hunting begin!”
Mr. Eon jumped off of the roof and ran somewhere. Before he disappeared, he yelled behind him, “It won’t just be you guys having fun! I will be hunting some ghosts myself!”
He disappeared into the darkness a few seconds later. Peqven jumps off of the roof to a small building that had a roof also. He stops and looks at Kaz.
“Come on! We must hurry before the other students get all of the good ones.”
Kaz nods his head and realized all of the other students were heading out in different directions with their partner. Kaz jumps down to the lower house where Peqven waited for him. Peqven jumped down to one more roof and then he jumped off of that building to land on the ground. He looks up, waiting for Kaz to follow. Kaz does the same thing he did and was beside him a few seconds later.
“Let’s go!” Peqven said as he began to run straight down a path that leads up.
Kaz followed him without a word coming from him. They continued to run straight until they reached a shore. Peqven watch turned on automatically. He reaches a hand into his watch and takes out a small rucksack that was brown. He opens it and looks inside for something.
“Let’s see… It should be in here somewhere… AH! Here it is!”
Peqven reaches a hand into the bag and takes out a cape that was black. It was the type of cape that could be worn, but it looked like the kind of cape that could be used for a bullfight, it was probably more of a cloak then a cape. Peqven puts the rucksack on his back after he closed it. The cape, or cloak, he held in his hand was thrown onto the ground.
“Transform into something that could fly.” Peqven said.
Suddenly, the cloak slowly started to form into the shape of something. At first, it turned into a big plane, but then it changed into what looked like a flying carpet. The color of the cloak stayed the same. The cloak floats off of the floor a little to show that it could fly. Peqven jumps on the cloak. To Kaz surprise, it was able to hold him. The cloak didn’t push down due to the weight of him and it looked sturdy. Kaz jumps on next, right next to Peqven. The cloak felt soft and the cloak didn’t push down due to his weight. Kaz blinked his eyes a few times in confusion. Before he could ask questions about the cloak, it started to lift up higher. Kaz quickly grabs the side of it to not lose his balance. Peqven grabs the front of it to keep his balance. As soon as he held on, the cloak floated higher into the sky and rushed forward across the water. Kaz still didn’t know where he was, nor could figure out why it was night, but he decided to hold his questions for later. Peqven closed his eyes and he started to glow a light around him. Kaz no longer found that strange, almost everyone did that at the ‘CFL’ schools. He figured it had something to do with ‘ki’, or maybe it was ‘ki’. After a few seconds of silence, the light flew off of his body and ‘jumped’ into the sky. Kaz looks up to follow the light with his eyes. He realized the light zoomed across the sky and went ahead of them. He could see the light stop somewhere in the distance. The light from Peqven disappeared obviously. He opens his eyes and then he points towards the light.
“There’s a ghost over there Blacclok. Go to it!” Peqven said as he grabbed hold again.
The cloak, also known as ‘Blacclok’, sped up and headed towards the light. Kaz looks down and realized that they just flew over the whole ocean. They were now heading towards mountains. Once they got close enough, Kaz saw snow everywhere. There were high piles of snow. The light was a little farther ahead. Blacclok flew in-between mountains, getting closer to the light. But, suddenly, there was a big shake all in the mountains. Kaz and Peqven look up and gasped in fear mixed with surprise. Snow began to fall from the sides of the mountains and rocks there.
“It’s an avalanche!” Kaz said.
Peqven grits his teeth. They wouldn’t make it out of the mountain in time. Peqven jumps off of Blacclok and pushed Kaz off along with him. Peqven held Blacclok in his hand.
“Transform into something that will protect us!” He shouted.
Peqven still held Blacclok in his hand. He swings it over Kaz and his own heads. At the same time, Blacclok changes shape quickly. The color of Blacclok changed to dark red and orange. The design of Blacclok turned into fire it looked like. The snow from the avalanche lands onto Blacclok. But, instead of snow pushing it down like it should, Blacclok melted the snow as it landed onto it. Not even the water of the snow fell down on them or anywhere near them. Blacclok was obviously doing a good job protecting them from the snow. Finally, the snow stopped falling. Blacclok changed back to its normal color and turned into a flying carpet again. Peqven jumps back on as if nothing happened, Kaz followed slowly, still surprised by the event that took place. As soon as he got into position, Blacclok took off again towards the light. After a few seconds, they reached where the light was. And near the light, was a ghost. The ghost was blue all over, obviously the poor soul died frozen while they were alive. The ghost was dressed warmly, dressed well enough to survive under such conditions. The ghosts face was hidden under the hood of the winter coat. The light next to it flew at Peqven and went back inside his body, the light disappeared a few seconds later. Peqven and Kaz jumped off of Blacclok. Peqven face became serious. He looks back at Kaz and said, “Stay back and watch me fight. Don’t get in my way.” Peqven said as he wrapped Blacclok around him.
Instead of him taking out a weapon or something, he approached the ghost. He stops a few inches away from it and extends a hand.
“My name is Peqven Bock. I am a ghost or soul hunter. I have come to help you rest in peace. Please, listen to me and rest in peace on your own. Please don’t make me use force…” Peqven said in a nice tone.
The ghost turned its head to look at him. The ghost head was still hidden under the hood, but it obviously understood. The ghost lifts up a hand. Kaz thinks that it was about to shake hands with Peqven, but he was wrong. The ghost extends one of its hands wide, showing its icy and frozen palm at Peqven. Suddenly, a wind of snow came out of its hand. Peqven being quick, he swings Blacclok in front of him. He didn’t get to tell it to transform, but it was able to at least stop the snow for hitting him. Once he was sure the ghost was done, he lowers Blacclok.
“I guess I have no choice but to fight…” Peqven said in a quiet tone.
“BATTLE MODE BLACCLOK!” Peqven shouted.
Blacclok wraps around his whole right arm and covers his hand at the same time. Some of Blacclok wrapped around his head that formed into an armor helmet. Blacclok formed into a twisted shape sword that looked like a large screw around his arm. The color of Blacclok did not change though, it stayed black. Peqven face was completely covered, except for his eyes. The rest of Blacclok curved behind his back, forming into what looked like wings with no particular design or shape. Peqven looks at the ghost hard in the eye.
“This is your last warning… Please rest in peace before I have no choice but to fight you…”
The ghost ignored his pleas and puts up both of its hands extended at him. A whirlwind of snow starts coming out of the ghosts hands. Peqven jumps up and stays in the air. He stays up there for a few seconds before he decided to attack. He dives towards the ghost with his weapon arm extended. In reaction, the ghost aims its hands at him before he got to close and shot out more whirlwinds of snow. Peqven sword pierces through the whirlwind of snow and landed on the ghosts hands. The ghost did not scream in pain, nor did it look like it was in pain. Peqven stares at the ghost while he was still in the air with his weapon arm touching one of the ghosts open-palmed hands.
“CAPTURE!” Peqven yelled.
Suddenly, Blacclok unwrapped itself from Peqven’s right arm and wrapped around the ghosts hands. It slowly, but quickly started to cover the ghost whole body. The ghost tried to struggle and move to get away, but the ghost couldn’t escape anywhere or move from the sudden grip. Once the ghost was engulfed by Blacclok, Blacclok formed into a large ball. The ball got smaller and smaller. The ball turned so small that it could fit the palm of Kaz hand easily. Peqven was put on the ground gently and some of Blacclok was still attached to him, his face and back mostly. His right arm and hand could be seen now. The ball shaped part of Blacclok lands in Peqven’s right hand.
“Good job Blacclok… Unleash from me…”
The rest of Blacclok unreleased its grip from his head and back. Slowly, it joined the ball shape form. Kaz could not believe what he was seeing. He didn’t know what Blacclok was and what exactly did Peqven do with the ghost. A few second later, the ball shape of Blacclok disappeared and was blowing through the wind like a regular cloak. Kaz approached Peqven with his mouth slightly agape. Peqven ignored his expression.
“Let’s move on…”
Kaz closes his mouth and nods his head. Peqven did the same thing like before. He closes his eyes and light starts glowing around him. The light emerges from his body and zooms through the sky elsewhere. Blacclok automatically changed into a flying carpet again. Peqven jumps on first and then Kaz.
“Let’s go!” Peqven said.
Blacclok floats a little high before it took off at a fast pace. Kaz held on tighter then before and he could barely see with the cold wind blowing against his face. To keep himself distracted from the cold, he tries to start a conversation with Peqven.
“Hey Peqven… What did you do with the ghost?”
“The ghost…? Ah yes… Blacclok ‘absorbs’ the ghost and then what happens next depends on the ghost…”
“Wh-What do you mean?”
“The ghost is trapped inside an alternate dimension type of thing inside of Blacclok… Depending on how the ghost behaves while in there, their fate cannot be determined… If the ghost learns how to control their emotions while in that alternate dimension, they can be released and I can guaranteed that the ghost will rest in peace. In other words, the ghost should be allowed to go to ‘The Spirit World’… I don’t know what it is like there, but I heard that our methods help them in ‘The Spirit World’…” Peqven explained.
“You’re right… It can help them in ‘The Spirit World’… Since they are not judged right away, they have to wait for years maybe, at a time. If they can control their emotions better while as a ghost, they can do it in ‘The Spirit World’ too… Although they may lose hope…” Kaz thought.
“So, what exactly is Blacclok? It obviously isn’t your everyday kind of cloak… Is Blacclok its name or what it is?”
“Blacclok? Blacclok is the name of the ‘cloak’ you can call it… But, Blacclok is not really a nonliving thing, it is actually alive. So, Blacclok is like my pet you see… Blacclok can’t speak, but he can show how he feels by transforming… Blacclok is a ‘Magicak’. That is the name of his species… He helps me capture ghosts… Unlike other careers, we Ghost or Soul Hunters have only one pet option… Although I heard that there is another career where there is only one pet option… Anyway, Blacclok is my pet’s name. Since it is a living thing, it deserves a name- right…?”
Kaz nods his head.
“As you have probably figured out already, Magicak’s can transform into things... But, the problem is that you can’t tell them what to transform into… For example, when I first took out Blacclok, I told him to transform into something that can take us across the water, right? I can tell it that, but I can’t tell it to transform into a plane or a rowboat. It is too specific and Magicak’s have a will of their own… They are mysterious creatures and can betray at any time… This is why we have to treat Magicak’s as best as we can or they can betray you… Magicak’s can also keep a ghost for a long period of time. In other words, if you still have the ghost, you can call upon it to use for battle purposes… That is, if you know the name of the ghost… Also, if the ghost hates you, it would be a bad idea to call upon it…” Peqven explained.
Kaz nods his head in understanding.
“I see… So, how many have you caught…?”
“Um… This is technically the first time any Ghost or Soul Hunter in our class has captured any ghost... So, as of right now, I only have one…”
Kaz nods his head. Peqven looks back to the front of where he was going. They were getting closer to the light source.
“We’ll be there in about a few more minutes…” Peqven said.
Kaz looks around and realized they were no longer in the mountains. They were now flying over a grassy plain that was covered with vegetables, mainly corn. The farmer’s house could be seen not too far from the field. Blacclok continued to fly further. They just flew over a few hills covered with green grass. The sky was clear of any clouds and it was still night time. Kaz still didn’t understand why it was night, but didn’t brother to ask about it. As they flew farther, Kaz looked down and thought he saw someone looking up at them. He blinks his eyes to see if the person was real and it wasn’t him freezing from the cold air. But, when he opened his eyes again, there was no one there. He thinks it was a hallucination.
“Maybe I’m beginning to see things because I haven’t eaten anything yet…” Kaz thought.
He slowly takes one hand off of Blacclok and turns on his watch. He takes out a fruit that he stored inside of it. To his surprise, the fruit he had stored a while ago looked the same as he had put it in the watch on the same day. He carefully eats, hoping he won’t choke or have any other sudden surprise. He felt a shift in Blacclok’s movements. He quickly grabs hold again. Blacclok suddenly flew downwards towards the light. The light was in the middle of another field, but it looked abandoned judging from the dusty farmhouse nearby and the rusty looking tractor. When they got close enough to the field, Kaz suddenly had a bad feeling. He grits his teeth and starts looking around in alarm. He takes out a shuriken from his pouch without a second thought.
“Shit! They’re here!” Kaz said.
Peqven looked at him.
“What are you talking about?”
“It doesn’t matter, tell Blacclok to go back up, now!”
Peqven pulls the front part of Blacclok upward. Blacclok goes back up. Kaz looks down, and saw the same person that he thought he saw at the other field.
“He must be a team member too…” Kaz said silently that Peqven didn’t hear him.
Peqven sees the man and thinks it is a ghost.
“Is that a ghost? Are you telling me to run away from it? Kaz, I can handle myself you know. You saw me beat that other ghost without much difficulty.”
“That isn’t a ghost! That person down there is a dangerous person from a dangerous team. That is all you need to know.”
“Really? And how do you know this?”
“Let me just say that it is a long story and I go by my feelings…” Kaz said as he stared at the person below him that he believed was a member of Team INFINITE.
The person below had a musketeer type of hat on with one long feather sticking from the side. The person had a long black jacket on that was open, obviously he was a man. Kaz believed the guy didn’t have a shirt under the jacket. He wasn’t sure if the guy was wearing pants or not because half of the jacket was close, covering the lower half of him. Behind his back was what looked like a sword, a very big one. The sword alone looked like it was at least 6 feet long. He rather would not know how thick it was, having horrible images of that sword cutting him up. He couldn’t tell what type of design it was because he was too far away. The sword’s color was noticeable. It was all black, like the rest of the man’s clothes. The man’s eyes were hidden behind a black pair of sunglasses. Kaz looks at the sword rested on his back again, and then it hit him. He looks at Peqven with a nervous face expression.
“He has a Magicak on his back! We have to get out of here before he catches us!” Kaz said.
As if on cue, the man took the sword off of his back and threw it up. The sword turned into what looked like a snowboard. The man jumps onto it and he starts going up, heading towards them.
“Shit! Move it now!” Kaz said.
“Move it Blacclok! We have to lose them!” Peqven said.
Blacclok reacts to his command by zooming forward through the air. As soon as they sped up, the man sped up also. He was riding his Magicak as if he was a professional snowboarder. His hands were inside his pockets, not showing any fear of falling off of the board. Kaz looks behind him and realized the man wasn’t that far from their current position. Peqven noticed him too and started to steer Blacclok in different directions by using the front of the cloak. He looks down and realized they were going over a large forest. Peqven steers Blacclok downward.
“We’ll lose him through the forest.” Peqven said.
Blacclok flew through the leaves and started to fly through the trees. They kept their heads low to avoid hitting any branches. They look behind them and didn’t see the man anywhere.
“I think we lost him…” Kaz whispered with a sigh of relief.
They look back forward to see where they were going. Just as they was about to reach the end of the forest, the man suddenly appeared in front of them. Blacclok halted not too far from the man. The man sees the children and smirks at them.
“~Found ya~” The man said in a sing-song tone.
Kaz and Peqven gasped in surprise and gritted their teeth in anger.
“There’s nowhere to run kids… Give it up…”
Feeling that they had no choice but to fight, Peqven and Kaz get off of Blacclok. Kaz still had his shuriken in his hand and Blacclok rested on Peqven’s shoulder like a cloak. Kaz stood in his fighting position and Peqven extended his right arm where Blacclok wrapped around his arm to get ready for battle. Kaz also realized the man had a few prickly parts of his beard growing near his chin. He must have been at least in his early to mid 30’s.
“I already know where you are from… Tell me your name and number…” Kaz said.
“Really?” The man said sarcastically and made a goofy smile.
“Well aren’t you a smart one… Then there is no need for me to introduce myself too much.”
He jumps off of his Magicak snowboard.
“~My name is Bisho and I am number ‘15’ from section ‘F’!~” Bisho said in a sing-song tone.
Peqven leans near Kaz ear.
“Are you sure this guy is dangerous? He looks harmless to me…” Peqven said.
Kaz nodded his head in agreement.
“Maybe this guy is pretending to be part of the team…” Kaz whispered back.
“~Now children, I only need one of you to come with me.~” He continued in a sing-song voice.
He points at Kaz.
“~And that would be you.~”
Kaz scoffed at him.
“How about ‘no’ as my answer.”
Bisho frowned a little at his answer.
“Oh, I didn’t want to do this… Look kid- Kaz, come with me peacefully or I will have to take you by force… I have no interest in a useless fight. It’s not me that wants you dead, but my boss… Now, make the smart decision and come with me…” Bisho said in a calm tone.
Kaz looks at Bisho with a serious face expression.
“I don’t care if you got on your knees and begged me to go with you, I refuse…” Kaz simply said without a second thought.
Bisho sighs.
“Oh well… I’m sure boss will understand if I tell him the circumstances about the situation…” Bisho said.
He extends his right arm and closed his hand, but left it slightly open, as if he was holding something.
“Battle mode Biroshi…”
Quickly, his Magicak, Biroshi, slid into his hand and turned into the 6 feet length sword that Kaz saw on his back before. The shape of it looked like a dagger, except it was very long and thick. Kaz was getting ready to react to any sudden movements he did, but Bisho didn’t attack to his surprise.
“Hey, what’s wrong…? Why are you not attacking?”
“I don’t find it fair to attack both people at the same time… Which of you is going to fight me?”
Kaz was going to walk forward, but Peqven held up a hand to stop him. He looks at Kaz with his eyes only.
“It would be best if I go… If you go and lose, he can easily capture you with his Magicak… Once you are captured by his Magicak, there is no way for you to get out unless he lets you out… Let me deal with him… Understand?” Peqven whispered so that Bisho couldn’t hear him.
Kaz gritted his teeth. He hated it when someone else fought for him. But, understanding the situation, he knew he had no choice but to stand back and watch.
“Fine… Just make sure you don’t lose… Or I’ll leave you, ya hear?” Kaz said.
Peqven smirks and nods his head. Kaz stands back and hid behind a tree to avoid getting hit if the battle got crazy later.
“Why does this always happen to me…? Why every time I meet someone, they end up protecting me…! I find it---- annoying and wrong…” Kaz thought as he looked from behind the tree to watch.
“But, if he gets into any trouble, I will jump in… Hopefully it won’t come to that…” Kaz thought.
Peqven’s Magicak had already changed into the twisted sword form like before along with the ‘wings’ and the helmet covering his face. Bisho eyes opened wide before he smiled.
“Wow! You have a wonderful imagination kid! What’s your name?”
“Peqven Bock. I am a ghost or soul hunter like you.”
“~How fun!~” He said in a sing-song tone again.
Peqven eyes frowned.
“Don’t play around with me… I will literally kill you if need to be...” Peqven said very seriously.
Bisho remained being calm and having a goofy smile on his face.
“Is that so? Well, I don’t like getting serious too much, it stresses you out to fast you know? Tell me when you are ready.”
Instead of Peqven replying with an answer with his mouth, he used his sword to answer. He dashes at Bisho swiftly and swung his sword towards his face. Bisho was caught by surprise, but he blocked it by luck.
“I take that as an answer…” Bisho commented.
Peqven ignored his comment and flew backwards to detach his sword from his. He jumps up and does a flip to swing his sword downward with as much force as he could. This time, Bisho wasn’t caught off guard. He was able to block it easily. Suddenly, a part of his Magicak went down and wrapped around his feet. Bisho slides sideways across the ground as if he was gliding on ice with skates on. He slides forward with his sword positioned in front of him to thrust it through Peqven’s stomach. Peqven flies up and turns around, swinging his sword downward again. He obviously dodged Bisho’s sword. Bisho looks up. Instead of him blocking, he slides to the side, avoiding the sword altogether. Peqven’s sword hits the ground instead. In an instance, Bisho was behind him. He swings his sword sideways that would cut Peqven in half. But, Peqven managed to avoid the fatal wound by flying forward. However, he didn’t move fast enough to not receive any damage. He received a big slash across his back. His back started to sting from the pain. But he forced himself to ignore the pain as he turned around to face Bisho again. This time, Bisho slides forward with his sword held to the side to swing it across him, to cut him in half again. Peqven stands there and waits for the perfect time to dodge it. At the last possible second, before the sword could even touch his skin, Peqven jumps up to dodge it. While doing so, he quickly slashes his sword across to cut his neck that could decapitate him. Caught by surprise, he barely moved on time. He slid back to avoid the fatal wound, but still received a cut across his neck. Blood started to leak from his neck. He reaches up a hand to cover the wound and to stop it from bleeding a little. He chuckled a little.
“You almost got me there. If that would have connected to my neck completely, I would have no head.” Bisho said with a smile.
“Hmph! You won’t be so lucky next time!” Peqven said as he charged at him again.
Bisho swings his sword sideway to deflect the sword. He succeeded in his move. He slides backwards to avoid any slick attacks from Peqven. Peqven regained his balance, since he was almost knocked out of the air and into the ground. He looks at Bisho with obvious fury. Instead of him charging at him again, he flies up high in the sky. Bisho had to look up to see how high he went up. He was at least 100 or so feet in the air. Kaz looked up also to see what he was doing. Kaz didn’t know, but he had a feeling that whatever he was about to do was going to cause a lot of damage. Kaz looks at Shiri who was rested on his right shoulder.
“Shiri, make me small like you did before and get us out of this area. I have a feeling that he is going to do something big, and I might end up getting hurt in the process.”
Shiri ‘mew’s’ in response. Within an instance, he was shrunk to a small size like before when he was ‘fighting’ against Mei. He lands on Shiri’s back. Shiri flies up into the air, but flying away from the battle scene. Once Kaz thought they were far enough, Shiri turns its body around so that Kaz could see what was going on at least. He could see what was happening, but he wouldn’t be able to hear. He looks at Peqven and realized a light was heading towards him. The light joins his body. But, the light didn’t disappear. Instead, the light grew brighter and it seemed to ‘grow’ in size around him. Kaz quickly turns on his watch.
“Hey watch, is there a way that you can make me be able to hear what is going on from this distance?”
His watch made a beeping noise. Suddenly, Kaz was able to hear a variety of things coming from the headphones he was wearing. He could even Peqven breathing through the headphones. He doesn’t complain about it, he thanks his watch instead for the services. His watch turned off automatically. He looks where Peqven was and focused on the battle. Peqven eyes were closed and he had his sword extended in front of him with both of his hands holding the hilt of the sword. His eyes shot open suddenly as the light around him took the design of fire. His eyes somewhat contracted, as if he was going to lose his mind and go on a nonstop rampage. He suddenly turns his sword downward while still holding it with both of his hands. His whole body was wrapped completed by Blacclok now. He looked like a warrior in black armor. The cloth dangling from his back that had no specific design before and were supposed to be wings, now had a specific design. They looked like large bat wings, but the ‘skin’ that would connect the bones of the wings and help it glide or fly was not there. Only the ‘bones’ of the wings were showing and they were very large.
“SUPER SCREWSWORD DIVE!” Peqven yelled.
He dives down at an incredible speed while spinning with his sword extended in front of him. The light around him stayed with him. Kaz couldn’t see the look of Bisho’s face, but he could imagine in his mind that he had a mixture of feelings-- scared and shocked. To his surprise, Shiri flies downward to see. Kaz wanted to protest, but he couldn’t get the words to leave his mouth. As he predicted, Bisho was in shock, but not stupid. He lifts up his own sword and holds it sideways to block Peqven’s sword attack that he assumed was a special move or technique. As soon as Peqven’s sword collided with his, the gravity from his speed combined with his strength forced Bisho feet into the ground hard. At the same time, the whole ground began to shake like an earthquake and the light from Peqven blinded everything and everyone temporarily. Kaz used one of his hands to block out the light, but he still couldn’t see anything. A few seconds later, the light disappeared. Kaz removes his hand from over his eyes to see. What he saw surprised him so much that he shook his head in disbelief. The whole landscape of where the fight took place a few miles from that area changed. Rocks had formed from the ground in various places. They were sticking up from the ground like large sharp pins or needles. In a few other areas, the ground was cracked, like a destroyed town after an earthquake. Kaz couldn’t see what happened to Bisho or Peqven.
“Shiri, go closer to where they are at so that I can see what happened.”
Shiri ‘mews’ in reply before it flew where the battle took place. As soon as he got close enough, he could see the two perfectly. Bisho was on the ground on his back, hurt everywhere. Kaz at first thought he was dead, but he was still alive because he could see his chest going up and down slowly. He had blood coming out of him from various parts of his body. Peqven was kneeling on the ground on one knee, not too far from Bisho. He looked like he was in the same condition like Bisho. He had his head down and he was breathing hard, trying to catch his breath. Blacclok was still wrapped around his right arm as a sword. Peqven was leaning against his sword, which was stabbed into the ground. Peqven was bleeding just as bad as Bisho.
“What the heck did he do….?” Kaz said in a low voice.
Kaz looked from one to the other. Suddenly, somebody started laughing. Kaz looks at Bisho and realized it was him laughing. He wasn’t laughing like a crazy person would, but he was laughing as if he heard a joke or was full of joy.
“Oh man…! That was a good blast kid… What was your name again…?”
Peqven lifts up his head to look at Bisho from a distance. He smirks at him before he replied.
“Peqven Bock is the name…” Peqven said while he was still trying to catch his breath.
“Really…? Hmmm…. Where have I heard that name before….?” Bisho said.
Peqven eyes opened wide in surprise.
“Yo-You heard my name before….?”
“Yeah… At least, I think so… At least, your last name… Or was it some other name…?”
Bisho slowly leans up from the ground. He lets his left arm hold his right arm that still had his Magicak attached to it.
“I don’t know… Maybe it’s just me… I’m not very good with names after all… Anyway…”
Bisho slowly stands up, still holding his right arm. Peqven looks at him in surprise. He was surprised that he was still able to move his body at all.
“That truly was a good blast, but, I don’t think you can move after such a technique- can you…? You probably thought that move would kill me… But it didn’t… What do you plan to do now?”
Peqven gritted his teeth in anger and frustration. He forces himself to stand up, using his sword to support him. Peqven pulls out his sword with all of his might and points it at Bisho.
“What I’m going to do you ask…? I’m going to finish kicking your ass is what I’m going to do!” Peqven said.
Bisho sighs.
“Really? I guess I underestimated you kid… You must be very strong to be able to stand up and then point your sword at me like that… Maybe I should run away…”
Kaz looked at Bisho with a brow up. He thought he was joking, but the way he said it and the way his face looked, made Kaz believe what he said.
“What the heck is up with this guy…? Is he really part of Team INFINITE…?” Kaz thought.
Bisho laughs nervously and scratches the back of his head with this goofy smile on his face.
“But if I run away, Babe will be mad at me…” Bisho said with a chuckle.
Peqven wanted to literally just walk away from the guy, because he was being beyond stupid.
“Hey… Are you really a bad guy man…?” Peqven asked.
“Huh? Of course I am! I did say what section and number I am, what more evidence do you need…?”
“I swear this is turning into a chat more than a fight…” Peqven said in a low voice.
“Look man, if you’re not going to be serious, than I am leaving!” Peqven said.
“Serious…? Are you sure you want me to start being serious…? You’re not going to like me in ‘serious mode’…” Bisho said.
“I don’t care! Anything to get you to stop acting so stupid!” Peqven said, losing his temper.
Bisho puts up both of his hands in defense.
“Okay, okay! There is no need to get angry… But you’re going to regret it…” Bisho said as he let his left arm let go of his right arm.
He stands in his fighting position again and Peqven followed. Bisho closes his eyes. Immediately after he did that, light begins to glow around his body. He opens his eyes and dashes at Peqven with incredible speed. Peqven was caught by surprise, but he managed to block his sword from striking his stomach at the last second. At the same time, he saw Bisho’s sword appear on the other side of his stomach. He tries to block it, but he couldn’t because he was too fast. Peqven felt the sharpness of his sword touch his sensitive flesh. Peqven is forced to fall sideways. The hit of the sword left him a long cut across the side of his stomach. To his surprise, the sword didn’t leave a deep cut, but a thin one- or worse, he wasn’t dead. He looks down at his wound and realized he didn’t receive much damage because some of Blacclok from his ‘wings’ had blocked his sword somewhat. He couldn’t tell is Blacclok was hurt or not. Peqven turns his head to look at Bisho.
“What did you do?” Peqven said, trying to catch his breath.
“Nothing… My speed is just faster… I am one of the fastest members on the team… Not sure if I can beat Elighting, but I am still fast… You told me to go all out, so I did… Blame this upon yourself…” Bisho said coldly, which was unusual for his personality.
“That is not what I mean! I mean, how did your sword appear in another place at the same time!?”
“I already told you… I am fast… There is nothing you can do to change that fact…”
Peqven gets back up and charges at Bisho right away. He swings his sword at him sideways, but Bisho blocks it easily. He pulls his sword back quickly and tries to thrust his sword into his stomach. Bisho blocks that with ease also. This time, Peqven flies back a little and then he charges at him while in the air still, with his sword heading for his head. Bisho sighs and then when Peqven was close enough, he swung his sword sideways to deflect his sword. His sword ends up pushing Peqven’s sword to the side and Peqven ends up flying sideway at little. Bisho swings his sword in a circle real quick before Peqven was hit with the sword to the side of his stomach- the flat part of it. Peqven flies sideways hard until he hits a tree. He groans in pain before he leans off of the tree and turns to look at Bisho again. A little blood leaked from the side of his mouth. He turns his head a little to spit before he looked back at him again.
“Don’t get too cocky…” Peqven said as he stood up straight.
“Cocky? I’m not getting cocky… I’m simply telling you the facts…”
“Whatever!” Peqven said as he flew towards him again.
Bisho sighs before he holds his sword in front of him to block his again. But, to his surprise, Peqven flew around him at the last second. Bisho turns around to face him, and Peqven had the sharp end of his sword turned and was about to thrust Bisho in the back. Bisho slides to the side before he turned completely around and collided his sword with Peqven’s. Peqven had his head turned and only could see Bisho with one of his eyes looking as far as they could in the back. Bisho smirked at Peqven.
“You almost got me there kid. Really good…! I would be quite hurt if it had of hit me.”
“Hmph! Too bad it didn’t hit you…!” Peqven said in response.
They kept pushing their swords as hard as they could, trying to knock one or the other to the ground or to the side. Finally, at the same time, they both pulled back. Bisho slides backwards and Peqven slides forward a little before he turned around and stopped.
“How long do you think we will fight?” Bisho asked before he stood in his fighting position again.
“I don’t know, but I know that I will win in the end.” Peqven responded as he stood in his fighting pose while he was still afloat a little from the ground.
Bisho made the light from his body disappear before he charged at Peqven like a skater on ice. Peqven charges at him in the air. Their swords collide again a few seconds later. Again, each of them tried to push one down to the ground. Peqven was trying so hard that when he started to grit his teeth, they would hurt. Suddenly, their Magicak start doing ‘weird’ things. The wings that Peqven had on his back turned into a monster and tried to attack Bisho’s head. But, Bisho’s did the same thing. The Magicak that was covering his feet changed shape into a monster also and tried to attack Peqven’s legs. Instead of the Magicak’s doing their own tasks of hurting the other’s master, they saw each other and started to attack each other. Kaz couldn’t believe his eyes.
“These guys… Are monsters…!” Kaz thought.
Peqven and Bisho decide to pull back at the same time. As soon as they did, the monsters disappeared from view and returned to where they came from. Bisho slides backwards and Peqven flies backwards. Peqven and Bisho were breathing hard. A few seconds later, Bisho stands up straight and holds his sword to his face, making the flat side of his sword lean against his face. The light appeared around Bisho again. He closes his eyes and he had both of his hands on the hilt of his sword.
“SLIDING DASH!” He shouted.
Suddenly, Kaz couldn’t keep up with Bisho’s speed. He was going too fast! All he saw was a blur of something- or someone move towards Peqven. Peqven eyes opened wide with surprise and he suddenly flew backwards while groaning in pain. He stops midway, but then he was sent backwards again in pain. He kept going back until his back hit against a tree hard. Then Bisho was easily seen again. He was standing in front of Peqven with the tip of his sword pointing at his throat- which meant he was at least 6 feet away from Peqven. Peqven stayed leaning against the tree, even the palms of his hands were rested against the tree. He gulps nervously and feared for his life. He could even feel his Adam’s apple resting against the tip of Bisho’s sword. He was afraid to breath to breath to hard or he would feel serious pain. He looks at Bisho straight in the eyes- or at least his sunglasses- his sunglasses didn’t break at all during the fight. Peqven was angry beyond recognition. Kaz realized that Peqven was in big trouble.
“I thought the guy was alright for a bad guy and all… But it seems that he will sink to that level too…” Kaz thought.
Kaz looked at Bisho once more before he decided on a plan. Bisho stared back at Peqven, but you couldn’t tell if he was angry or not through his sunglasses.
“What’s wrong? What happened to ‘kicking my ass’ kid? You lost it..?” Bisho asked, but not sarcastically.
“I didn’t lose nothing! But if you don’t let me down, Blacclok will surely get you before I do.”
“I don’t think so kid… Since you are so tired, it is impossible for you to use your ki to do another technique or even let your ‘Blacclok’ keep its form…”
“Don’t say such things if it hasn’t happened yet. You’re in no better condition than me.” Peqven said back as he spat onto his face.
Bisho used his free hand to wipe the spit off of his face. To Peqven’s surprise, Bisho was still calm.
“Really…? First off kid, I have way more ki then you. Secondly, then I guess that explains why your Magicak is fading from your right arm, face, and back.”
Peqven gasps in surprise at what he said, but more in disbelief. He uses his eyes to look at his right arm. Sure enough, Blacclok was losing its form on keeping its sword shape. And slowly, he could feel the ‘helmet’ part fading from his face. A fearful thought came into his mind. He realized that if some of Blacclok was fading from his arm and face, what about his wings…? He made himself be able to feel every single movement, and he realized that he was slowly, very slowly, sliding down against the tree. If he keeps sliding down the tree, he is going to kill himself. His chin and head will hit the tip of the sword and it will literally cut his face in half. He looks back at Bisho with gritted teeth.
“Sh-Shit…” Peqven muttered quietly.
Bisho didn’t smirk or even taunt Peqven even further. He only stares at him, waiting for him to fall into his own doom. Peqven closes his eyes and starts laughing, like a crazy person. One of Bisho’s eyebrows goes up in confusion.
“What’s so funny, kid…?”
Peqven kept laughing and then he stopped.
“Nothing… It’s just that you’re making it sound like I’m going to give up so easily to you... You act like you have won the battle.” Peqven said as he felt himself fall a little down, getting closer to the tip of Bisho’s sword.
“What….? You think you can get out of this situation…? You’re crazier than I thought kid… But, even if you fool yourself that you can get out of this, it is impossible for you to do that realistically- no matter how hard you try.” Bisho simply said.
Peqven face expression didn’t fade from his face.
“Yeah… And you’re fooling yourself that you are a bad guy.”
At that comment, Bisho lost his ‘cool’, he literally snapped. He looks at Peqven intensively. You can tell that he was angry because his forehead bent downward, like a frown.
“You don’t think I’m bad enough eh?” Bisho said that sounded cold and different.
He pushes his sword against his throat a little more. Peqven gasped at the sudden movement he did.
“I’ll give you bad, kid!” Bisho said.
Peqven could tell that Bisho was about to end his life. He sees his hand grip tighter onto his sword. Peqven guessed he was going to thrust the sword into his throat. Peqven closes his eyes in fear, and hopes that the pain of his death will not be too painful or that it will be so swiftly that he couldn’t feel it. But, a second later after he closed his eyes, he heard Bisho’s voice that sounded disappointed and surprised.
“WHAT?! Where did the kid go!?” Bisho said as he looked around.
Peqven opens his eyes and he felt something soft under him. He looks down and realized he was on something that was black and furry looking.
“Are you okay?” A familiar voice said.
Peqven turns around and sees Kaz sitting with his legs folded one over the other.
“Kaz!? Where am I? Or rather, what have you done to me…” Peqven asked as he looked around some more.
Kaz smiles at him.
“You are on top of my pet’s back- Shiri.”
“Oh…” Peqven said casually.
But then his eyes opened wide with surprise and he stares at Kaz in disbelief.
“Your pet…? You don’t mean----” Peqven let the sentence drift off from there.
“Yes I do… You see, Shiri has the ability to shrink people… At first, I thought Shiri could only shrink me, but it seems that it can shrink other people as well. That is, as long as I tell Shiri to do it…”
Peqven nods his head. He lies down on his back with relief.
“I almost died there… Hey, wait a minute… I thought you said you were going to leave me…”
Kaz shrugs his shoulders before he replied.
“Eh, I changed my mind.” Kaz simply said.
Peqven just smiles at his reply and took a big breath.
“I’m glad you did…” Peqven said as he closed his eyes.
Kaz looked at him and realized he was in really bad condition. He turns on his watch and takes out the first aid kit he got from his past adventures with “The Blue-Eyed Moon Pirates”. He crawls to where Peqven laid and puts it next to him.
“Hey Peqven, before you go asleep, you may want to wrap yourself up with these things.”
Peqven opens one eye to see what he was talking about. He sees the first aid kit and leans up again. He takes the kit and opens it. He starts spraying stuff onto his wounds and fixing himself up overall. He looks at Kaz while he was doing this.
“Where did you get this kit from?”
“Got it when I was with “The Blue-Eyed Moon Pirates”.” Kaz said coolly.
“Pirates?!” Peqven exclaimed.
“Yeah…”
“Wo-Wow… You have traveled with pirates...! How was it?”
Kaz chuckles at his question.
“A whole lot of fun and danger too. Basically what you have been through Peqven… Wow… Time sure is passing by quick now that I think about it…” Kaz said as he lies down against the back of Shiri’s head with his hands behind his head.
“Really…?” Peqven said as he looked over the edge of Shiri, looking down.
He realized that they were moving through the sky. He looks away and looks at Blacclok, who was rested around his neck like a scarf. He smiles at Blacclok briefly before he looks up at Kaz.
“So, where are we going…?”
Kaz shrugs his shoulders. He closes his eyes before he answered.
“I don’t know to tell you the truth… I just told Shiri far enough from that guy… You know, just in case he follows us… Anyway, Shiri may end up flying for hours nonstop…. But-”
He opens his eyes to look at Peqven once more before he continued.
“Shiri is a smart creature… Shiri will tell me if it thinks something is following us- including that guy, Bisho… And, you need to rest… It is 11 at night here, according to my watch… If you try to move too much or even use an ounce of your ki, you can probably collapse and sleep for days… So, even if that guy was following us around now, you are in no condition to fight him again. Also, if you want to win the hunting contest, you need to rest today and start hunting early tomorrow… Except this time around, we will be prepared for any type of danger tomorrow… So, just rest up until Shiri lands us somewhere… And that is an order.” Kaz said with seriousness as he closed his eyes again to rest.
Peqven could feel a vein pop up on his forehead in anger.
“An order huh? I don’t have to listen to you, but… You are right, so I will get some sleep for the rest of the night. And then tomorrow, I will find that guy, Bisho, and beat him until he can’t move anymore.” Peqven said as he lies back down to rest.
Blacclok turns into a large blanket automatically to cover Peqven and Kaz. They both fell into a deep sleep a few minutes later.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Back at the forest where the battle took place…
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bisho scratched the back of his head in confusion.
“I don’t get it… Where did he go…?”
Bisho had searched for a whole hour through the forest for Peqven, but to no avail, he didn’t find him.
“I wonder where did he go…? I saw that strange looking creature and then---”
Bisho thinks about what he said and then he gasps.
“Oh crap! I let him and the other kid get away!”
He stops again to think. He does a goofy smile at what he was thinking.
“Wait! I lost them! That means that I don’t have to fight them anymore since they got away! And furthermore, I don’t have to look for them! I mean, I found them by accident anyway… So, no big deal! I’m a pure genius!” Bisho said with glee.
He laughs happily to himself as he turned around to walk down the path that lead the way out of the forest. But, he stopped in his tracks when he heard a familiar voice.
“You lost who, Bisho?” A female voice said.
He looks around for the source of the voice. He smiles at the person that was leaning against a tree.
“~Ah my sweet! How are you?~” He said in a sing-song voice to her.
The woman emerged from the shadows. She was wearing a ninja type of outfit. She was covered from head to toe in one set of clothing. The only thing out of place that wasn’t ninja like was the collar that covered her mouth. Her eyes were beautiful and striking to see. They were the perfect color of green, when the moonlight glistens on her eyes, they shone bright like diamonds. Bisho walks to her with arms extended to give her a hug, but she slaps his hands away.
“I’m not ‘your sweet’. I’m just your partner for those items!” She said with anger.
He steps back and puts up both of his hands in ‘defeat’.
“Now, now, there is no need to get mad at me Babe.” He said nervously.
She glares at him in anger.
“My name isn’t ‘Babe’, it’s Bab! They sound different and both of them are spelled differently! Why can’t you get that right!?” She said angrily.
He takes off his black sunglasses and reveals his eyes. His eyes happened to be the same color as hers and just as beautiful as hers. His eyes were the perfect shape that any girl would fall over heels for him- except for Bab. He moves his face close to hers to do the ‘cute and innocent’ puppy eye face.
“~I’m sorry! I’ll get it right next time, honest!~” He said with such innocence and in slight sing-song.
Bab scoffs at his face expression and rolls her eyes.
“Get your face away from mine… And you don’t look cute like that- or at all for that matter.” She said coldly.
Bisho holds his chest dramatically and pretends to cry.
“I-I have been shot…” He said with his head lowered.
“Don’t try to change the subject! Who or what did you lose?”
Bisho regains his posture and looked at her nervously. He chuckles nervously and tries to walk away from her at a fast pace. But then he was blocked off by two shadow figures that were in shape of trees- which they were the shadows of trees. A cold shiver is sent up his spine. He slowly turns around to face her again. He chuckles nervously at her again.
“Hey now Babe… What is the big idea with the shadow trees…?” He asked with a stupid expression.
“For the last time, it’s Bab not ‘Babe’! And you know darn well why I did it! Tell me what or who you lost!” She demanded.
He sighs in defeat.
“Fine… I lost two kids…”
At first, Bab didn’t say anything because she thought he was joking again.
“You don’t have kids Bisho… So, stop joking around and tell me what you lost…” She said calmly.
He shakes his hands side to side, telling her that she was thinking wrong.
“N-No! I didn’t mean it like that! I meant I lost the trail of these two kids that I bumped into by accident… Understand…?”
“Okay, so what about the two kids? Why were you following them anyway? And, who exactly are the two kids?”
He pauses for a few seconds before he spoke again.
“I wasn’t exactly following them… I was just minding my own business by doing my mission to search for the items… But, I didn’t find anything here anyway… And then, I felt a ki level not too far from where I was towards the mountains… I flew on Biroshi to go towards the mountains, but I stopped in the fields when I realized they were heading my way anyway… So, I waited for them to come to me and then I followed them. I realized one of-”
“Just get to the main point!” She said with impatience.
“….. Anyway, one of the kids was---- Kaz Mo…” Bisho said quietly.
Bab looks at him with obvious surprise on her face.
“What!? And you lost his trail!?”
“Ye-Yes… I would have just grabbed him… But he wasn’t alone, he was with a Ghost or Soul Hunter named….. Um… It begins with the letter ‘P’…. I think it was Peqvine- no- it was Peqven… And, I had no choice but to fight him because he was protecting Kaz… You know how I feel about fighting kids, Babe…”
She ignores him about saying her name incorrectly, but she thought about what he said before she responded.
“I see…”
Bisho could tell she was lost in her own thoughts. He does a goofy smile and tired to change the feeling of the atmosphere.
“You know I don’t want to hurt kids because I want to have kids with you one day!” He said with slight glee and happiness.
She woke up from her thoughts and she sends a punch to his face without a second thought. Bisho falls to the side and lands on his back. He rubs his cheek of where he was hit.
“Ouch! Do you have to be so mean all the time!? You should be happy I said such a thing!” He complained like a child as he stood back up.
“Shut-up… I don’t want to have anything to do with you… Especially something like that…” She said, about to lose her temper again.
But, she calmed down a bit before she continued.
“Anyway, it seems that you have tried to leave something behind…! In other words, you tried to ‘run away’ from the situation that you have caused. So, this is what I want you to do… I want you to go find both of the kids and deal with them… And, bring Kaz back unharmed by using Biroshi.”
“Bu-But Babe! INFINITE told our boss that-”
“I know what he said!” She yelled, losing her temper again.
She calms down a bit before she continued.
“But, he never said that we couldn’t try to catch him… And besides, if we do catch him, imagine the reward we will get for bringing him to INFINITE unharmed. We will definitely be set for life and be recognized more than anyone else on the team- even that guy Finder himself will be less recognized compared to us. No matter his number… Do you get my point…?”
He sighs in defeat.
“Yeah, I get it… But I don’t care for awards or number status… As long as I am alive and I am happy with my life, I really don’t care… And-”
He walks closer to her and holds one of her hands in his.
“~As long as I am with you, I have been rewarded enough.~” He said with a smile and in sing-song.
She punches him again, but this time on top of his head.
“Can’t you be serious for once!? Just do as I say!” She yelled at him.
He rubs his head injury and chuckled at her.
“Whatever you say…”
He stops rubbing his head and looks at her. He puts his sunglasses back on his eyes and smiles.
“Anything for you- Babe, my sweet.” He said as he sent her a flying kiss before he dashed out of there.
Even though he was running, he smiled at the sound of her voice yelling at him.
“MY NAME ISN’T ‘BABE’! AND I’M NOT YOUR SWEET!” She yelled that echoed throughout the forest.

Back To Kaz and the Group
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kaz felt something soft and a little wet rub against his cheek. He opens his eyes lazily and sleepily. He looks to the side and realized it was Shiri that woke him up from his deep slumber. Shiri must have used its nose to wake him up. He rubs his eyes and leans up. He realized he was big again and Shiri was its normal size, like a cat. He looks around and realized they were inside a cave. But, he felt warm for some odd reason, instead of cold. He looks on his lap and realized there was something that looked like a black blanket that covered him. He looks along the top of the blanket and saw Peqven on the other side under the same blanket.
“I see… He must have used Blacclok to cover us… It must have been while we were flying in the air though, otherwise I wouldn’t be so warm…” Kaz thought.
He yawns and turns on his watch. He saw the time and looked at Shiri with childlike angry expression.
“What’s the big idea of waking me up at 3 in the morning Shiri? It isn’t even the proper time for me to wake up Shiri…” Kaz complained.
Shiri ‘mew’s’ in reply. Kaz sighs.
“I knew you were going to say that… Anyway, you must have waked me up because you wanted to tell me we landed- right?”
Shiri ‘mew’s’ in reply. Kaz leans back down on the hard ground of the cave.
“Well, thanks for doing that Shiri… For flying us and all… Now, I want you to get some rest too Shiri… We might need you for any tomorrow events… Especially if we see him tomorrow… It would be a big disaster if you were too tired to help us- right?” Kaz said as he let out a big yawn.
Shiri ‘mew’s’ in reply before it crawled next to Kaz and slipped under the blanket. Kaz felt Shiri cuddle next to his arm and became relaxed. Kaz closed his eyes and went back into a deep sleep.

AUTHOR COMMENTS/NOTES
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ABOUT THIS STORY/NEXT CHAPTER:. You might be saying, “WTH!?! You’re updating after about 2 years!?!” Yeah, I know… What happened (and is STILL happening) is that when I started writing another chapter I got the dreaded curse- writer’s block! And, this one, unfortunately lasted for about a year and a half… And, when I had writer block for my fiction story, I went to writing fanfiction instead… And, so far, I’m still in fanfiction mode… I THINK I might be getting out of my writers block pretty soon! At least, I think so… But still, don’t expect as much updates because I REALLY don’t have time to write as much… In fact, most of my time goes to studying… And, since it is getting closer to finals, my time will DEFINITELY go towards studying for my course. I hardly doubt that the next update will be anytime soon… But, feel free to leave a comment or something… Sadly, I didn’t really participate in the NANO WRIMO this year. I wanted to be in it to work on this story, and I DID sign up for it. But, I didn’t have time to write anything, and all I wrote was- nothing… Zero, nada, nothing, and so on… Well, thanks for reading, and do expect another chapter in the future, just not very soon…
Sincerely,
Kitty8688theonly
