The sun blazed through the windows that reside beside my seat as I awoke from my nap. For a good hour I slept while dreaming of my new home but as it began as a simple dream became a nightmare as I witness my family dieing before my eyes.
-Dream-
My mother was nick into pieces by an iron blade while my little sister bleeds to death before her. I and my brother watched in horror as the creatures devoured their bodies away, slicing them till they were no more but still beating hearts that redden the white carpet, turning it to a scarlet red.
It wasn't really nightmare if you think about it, but a mere memory. I was only 8 then while my brother was 6. Our sister was 10, meaning she was the eldest of the children in the family.
My father had gone to town when this had all happen, leaving us defenseless as they slaughtered our mother and sister. All I could recall was after they had consumed their inners they came after us.
My brother begged for us to go back and see if Delilah, our sister, was still alive but I couldn't explain for we were about to die the same fate as well. Trapped like mice within a maze, we passed by numerous trees, hoping to shake them off our trail but as we neared the ending of the woods, we were ambushed. The creatures that hindered our escape appeared between voracious wolves and man-kind, baring their razor-sharp carnies at us.
Grabbing onto my brother we back up against a tree as the famished creatures snapped their fangs at us, missing me by an inch. My brother shivered seeing that I was panicking, dodging one of their paws that scraped against the tree, leaving a large gash that could have killed me in an instant.
It was taking ever ounce of strength to not holler out, knowing it excite their game of Coy as you say even more. Though we were still hiding behind trees, they easily sliced them down, as though they were mere twigs.
Not knowing what to do, I glanced feverishly around the area, there, I spot a river in which I could maybe lead them to. Yet if I were to send these 'things' away, I had to do something for my brother in which they wouldn't go after him and chase me instead. Looking down upon my brother, I see his wide greenish blue eyes stare in anxiety at the oncoming beasts.
Without thinking I shove him in-between a tree that had mold together with another making a modest gap in which he could crawl into. A first he was perplexed at why I had did such a thing, but as he saw the wolves like creatures on all fours come racing toward us, he began to comprehend my actions. Crying out for me, I ignore his pleas, knowing it be best if he were to hid now before the 'things' got anywhere near him.
With a high-pitched whistle, the beasts looked over to me, not even notching were I had hidden my brother. Now that their blood-lusted eyes on me, they began their pursuit, spreading out ward like a pack would do when stalking prey. I began to feel like my plan wasn't much of a hot-shot at the moment when I saw how determined they were to slaughter and devour me.
The river was too far now for me to lead them away were I was hoping they drown once they met the falls on the other side. An abrupt, ear-piercing howl escaped the throat of one of the beasts, stepping forward to my form. Fresh blood-written saliva dripped from the beings mouth while exposing its fangs once more, seeing that I was at the end of my rope.
Before I could scurry away, the being lunged at me, his claws extended as he aimed directly for my exposed throat. My eyes closed shut, not bothering to release them form their tight hold for I knew it was over. At lest that’s what I thought. When I didn't feel the impact of the thing, my body stood stiff, wondering about claws that could have torn me to shreds.
Unfastening my lavender eyes I scan the area till I see a figure holding onto the beast's neck. Within minuets the head slid off, falling to the figures feet. Automatically my hand flew to my lips and covered my mouth from the fowl smell the erupted from the heads corpse, smelling like a humans rotting flesh.
My body began to give way as the stench thickened within the air, causing me to feel dizzy and sick. Before I could clasp upon the earth a hand caught me. As I began to drift off all I could hear were hushed whispers before hearing my brother calling out my name.
-End of dream-
The gory memory of my mother and sisters death remained a scar that burned my mind. I never saw the figures face, leaving me bewildered at who could have saved me. When I had woken I saw my father and brother, gazing down at me. I had asked if it was father who saved me but my brother would always repeat "Mister nuigh" which greatly confused both me and my father.
Yawning while stretching my long arms into the air, I take in the sight round me. What caught me off guard was a boy around my age sitting next to me. I guess when I had entered the plane I feel asleep before I could even see who had the seat beside me.
Staring at the boy I could tell he was slightly asleep as well. His chest rose up very slowly then came down just at the same pace. His hair was a messy blond, mixed in with different shades of brown, his eyes closed off so I could not see what color they were. In a way he looked like a model for his angelic face and body, like the ones girls would go crazy for and try everything in their power to win them. I swear it was stupid for what they do to get guys like these. Some I feel are overconfident and cocky, knowing they had the looks to have girls beg on theirs knees.
With a blissful sigh, I daze off, observing the clouds that blended in with one another, Turning form calm white, to dreadful gray as we wiped by. The funny thing is, from time to time I'd catch myself looking back to the boy, seeing if he awoken yet or not. For some reason I felt a strange vibe course through him, as though he weren't human. Pushing the thought to the side, I see one of the girls who took drink orders come by, asking questions on what they like while others passed out chips, pretzels, bars and the all infamous peanuts.
My mind was to busy to even notice that the guy next to me wasn't asleep anymore, instead, he was ordering his drink from one of the young girls who was taking his order. "Thank you." Was all I caught before I glanced to him, meeting his captivating eyes. They were an enthralling gray you would see in those summers storms that blazed with thrills of lighting, were you hear the clash of thunder as well. That is how I felt at the moment. I was in a summer storm with no ending, forever twisting me in its path.
An irritated 'Ahem' came from the young women, seeing that we were locked in a stare. "Miss..What would you like?" I could tell from her tone she was slightly jealous, making me raise a slim brow at her attitude. For a second I wondered what could make her feel such a way till I realized she keep glancing at the man next to me. 'So she likes him...what a fool.' "Water would be fine." I said simply, hinting a bit of threat within it. Not liking she was challenging me.
"One water it is." With that, she left, well, not before she winked at the man and swayed her non existent hips away. Grunting at the disgusting behavior, I failed to have remembered about the man beside me. His gaze burned my neck in question of the sudden tension in the air. "You not much of a morning person are you?" Twisting my head to side, I merely grasp a glimpse off him, not wanting to loss myself in his eyes again. "And what if I'm not?" I remark impassively, hating to have talk to some stranger.
"Well then, must you be so distant to others then?" He inquired smoothly, like he was trying to tame some vicious beast. "If I must then I must." I stated back dully, jaded by his useless words. "I see..Well then were are you headed to?" He laid his head on his pillow in a smooth, perfect motion, something that was out of the blue for me.
"Texas, were you think?" An innocent smirk graced my face, seeing that this plane was only a one way and that it was to Texas. From the corner of my eye I could distinguish his charming smile flatten a bit. "No really, what part?" He queried again, trying to probe into my judgments and causes.
"Its really non of your business you know." My tone rose up slightly, trying to get through his puny head that he didn’t need to know my life. "Well if you wont tell me then perhaps you could explain to me why you re coming here? Friends, family wise?" His says while gazing within my eyes, searching for an answer of any sort. "I have no friends nor family here, I'm just living my life like any normal human being." I muttered under my weary breath, struggle to keep my composer. "What do you-" he was cut off when the women who took our orders came by, looking awfully livid.
"Here's you water miss " she slammed the water down, making the liquid spatter on the trays from the seat. "And here's your coke sir." Instead of slamming it down like she did to me, she gently placed it his hands, making sure to take her sweet time letting it go while making or attempting to make attractive body movements. Unlike the males who turned from their seats to watch her, I was comparing her to a majestic elephant dieing while being shot down by poachers. Yeah, that's how sickening it was.
"If you ever get bored with sitting near this thing, then join me in my personal seat that's in the back." She pointed to a curtain that was just a few feet back, with no one inside. "I’ll be waiting." She said in a seducing voice, glaring at me before winking once more at the guy next to me. Never had I been insulted like this in my life. "Thing? Heck she looks more like an 'accident' to me" growls erupted from my throat, making the man next to me chuckle at my actions.
"I don't think she even realizes that I'm 18 not 20." His melodic voice snickered out, holding back from bursting in front of the crowed who at the moment was either hypnotized or sickened by the women's nature. "Huh? Your 18?" I asked blankly, surprised since I thought he was 20 as well. "Yup, a senior in high school. What about you? Are you 20?" I know he was only joking but I couldn't help but smile at this. "I wish, I'm just 16. A sophomore as you say." My voice was surprisingly kind towards him now but I didn't really matter at the time being.
"Oh really? What high school do plane to attend here?" His stormy gray eyes gleamed a bit with wonderment that almost made me loss my soul again. "Umm..I don't know yet but..I was thinking about this one around Austin I guess." I replied wistfully, thinking about were I should go. "My folks live around Austin but more on the out skits, that's were I'll be going for my last year. Your welcome to come with to see the school."
Thinking over his words I hear the sound of noise beeps come from the plane. "We are now descending to Austin. Please remain seated for air turbulence. Thank you and we hoped you enjoyed your flight." "Its about time to. Twilight was probably going to kill me for leaving her with all them other pets. Knowing that cat she meow like crazy till my ears bleed." I utter out, while hearing the 'mister charming' chuckle once more. "Sounds like a lovable cat to me." "She is once you get past her claws and teeth." I remarked dryly, seeing no amusement what so ever.
Suddenly the plane jolted, making my water fly into the air and astonishingly, hit the same women who was hitting on the guy. Water dripped from her face, making the heavy make-up she wore sprawl down to her clothes. Shrilling out, all the men turned to see the dilemma. When they saw Frankenstein's bride they all began to either laugh in hysteria or pulling out the puke bags, probably thinking what was wrong with what they saw in that thing.
Smiling delightfully I look from her crying face to the window, seeing karma was on my side. "And why are you so happy all of a sudden?" The guy questioned me, only making me shrug as the plan landed on the asphalt floor. Ah, sweet loving earth. It took only a few minuets till everyone was off the plane, letting us to find our families or just chill for the next flight. "So have you decide to come see the school with me?" he asked again as we exited the hall of the plane into the sight of many people walking and chatting with one another.
"I might. But I cant today since I moving in to my new home. Plus I need to pick up Twilight." I explained, hoping he would understand. His gray orbs down cast at my answer, but unexpectedly brighten back up. "That’s all right but Let me give you the address of the school and the town’s name. If you get the chance to that is." Swiftly he took his luggage off his shoulder and slide the zipper, pulling out some paper a pin. His hand slide over the paper like fine water in one delicate motion before handing me the it.
"Here you go, hope you stop by one day." I looked over the note seeing the name of the town. To my own revelation the town was the exact one that I was moving to. The town was called Blood Rift Cove for its history. Their wasn’t an ocean their but the settlers decide to name it that for the caves that were hidden within the hills were they found bodies that had been there for many years. The school on their other hand was one of the few that I checked out. This one was called Nightingale High with a mascot that was a bird. Isn’t that original.
His eyes burned into mine that sent unknown emotions down my spin. With a final good bye he left well, not before asking one more question to me. "I forgot to ask your name." he shouted from afar, making turn back to face him. "Its Trinity Valentine" As I said my name his face began to change from calm to shock which greatly alarmed me for his sudden change but was soon replaced with his usually features.
"I see..Mines DeMonta Knight, see around Trinity." His voice rasped out beautifully, as his gray eyes reflected the sun. "Like wise." I declared before high-tailing it to get my cat before she throws a nasty fit, leaving DeMonta in his thought.
"I'll see you..Very soon Trinity."
