Say it again.

She will photocopy your words

in black-and-white

on blank sheets,

and wallpaper her thoughts

with cheap imitations.

-:- -:- -:-

This way,

she can love the repetition of your words

a thousand-times over.

-:- -:- -:-

She touches the sheets,

where the quotes start off warm,

but end up breathy-cold on her fingertips.

(Say it again and again; she’s still not feeling it.)

-:- -:- -:-

Your face is obscure in black and white,

but words don’t fade;

they distort.
