Eight Years Later
It has been eight years since that terrible night, when Lily lost her beloved. She has been searching for him ever since, she heard him call her name the day after he died. Link journeyed with her like he said he would, until three years ago he went... missing. She didn't know where he went, and he didn't even say he was leaving... he just left. But, she still had her other friend to help her. Erin, Viper, and Melanie came back to help, like they said they would. They traveled to new places, where demons were lurking. Since the battle with Delatricx there have been an outbrake of demons, everytime demons showed up, Lily goes looking for his body. Lily has just recently came back to Marden for some rest, before continues her search.
Lily was laying in her bed, she opened her eyes slowly; the sun shining on her face. She embraced the warmth of the sun, as if it was Thorn's hand touching her. She heard the door open, as someone came into the room.
"Mommy," said a little girl. She has long black hair, dark devilish blue eyes, skinny body, white skin, she wore a white dress, and white shoes, she stands at four-feet three-inches, clan none, age seven.
"Hello, Lelawey," Lily said. "What are you doing?" "Just playing hide 'n' seek with Melanie," she answered. "Please, don't let her know I'm here." "Okay," Lily said laughing.
They heard the footsteps of the maids, some warriors. But then they heard someone walking up to the door and stop, they opened the door. Melanie came walking into the room, she saw Lily laying on the bed. "Is Lelawey in here?" Melanie asked. Lily smiled and said. "No, I haven't seen her." Melanie smiled, then walked around to the other side of the bed, but she wasn't there. She looked under the bed, then said.
"Found you." Lelawey looked at her, giggling, then asked. "How did you find me?" "That's my secret," she answered. "No fair, I think you cheated," Lelawey said, as she climbed out from under the bed. Melanie smiled, she didn't bother to clarify herself about what Lelawey said.
Lily figured it was time to get up, so she got out of bed, and walked to her redwood dresser. Which still had some of Thorn's clothes in it. She opened the top door, and grabbed out a change of clothes, then she turned around and walked to the door leading out to the hallway. Before she left the room, she turned to Melanie and asked. "Will you watch, Lelawey while I take a bath?" "Yes, I will," she answered.
Lily gave her thanks as she left the room, and headed down the hallway. The stone corridor was warm, the scent of the air was sweet to the senses. The day was beautiful, and sunny she thought of going for a nice walk to the river nearby. She always felt more closer to him, walking in nature. She reached the room she was looking for, she opened the door and walked inside. There was a bath already made for her, there were petals of lavender in the hot water. She undressed and put one foot over the water, then she dipped one toe into the water, just to make sure the water wasn't too hot. She slowly got into the water, she embraced the scent of the lavender letting it overwhelm her senses, she reached for the soap, and started washing her body.
She finished her bath, then she stood up slowly, she grabbed a towel and started to dry herself off. She grabbed her change of clothes, she put on her blue pants, and a blue shirt. She grabbed her dirty clothes, and went back to her room, before she entered the room she heard giggling coming she the room. I guess Melanie and Lelawey are having fun, she thought, with a smile.
She walked into the room, Melanie was tickling Lelawey. Lily threw them a small smile as she walked by, she put her dirty clothes on top of the dresser. Melanie continued to tickle Lelawey. Lily let them have their fun, she went to stand by the window next to the dresser. Lucky for her, her room was just about the surrounding wall, that protects Marden. She saw rabbits running in the field, birds flying in front of the window. She started thinking of taking a walk to the river, but she wasn't sure of it, yet. She never liked leaving her daughter for too long, she knew that if she went for a walk she would be gone for a couple hours.
Melanie stopped tickling Lelawey and turned to Lily who was still staring on the window. "If you want to go for a walk, I'll watch Lelawey for you," Melanie suggested.
"I'm not sure if I want to go for a walk," she looked at Melanie.
"Come on go for the walk."
"Okay, I'll be back in a bit."
She strapped on her belt, with a knife on it, she walked over to Lelawey, and gave her a kiss on the forehead. And walked out to the hallway. Maids were still running through the hall, chattering about nonsense and they did their chores, some were bitching about their chores. Lily decided to just ignore them, and make her way to the front gate. She reached outside of the castle, it was forty-feet to the front gate, then her walk would begin.
There were kids playing and singing, the shops were
selling fruits and vegetables. She looked around all the shop, nothing caught her interest, until she saw a big red apple, she walked up to the green and red stand, she looked at the shopkeeper, then asked. "How much are your apples?" She looked at Lily with a smile, and answered. "Four silver." Lily reached into her coin purse, and grabbed out four silver coins, then she handed the coins to the shopkeeper. Lily took the most appealing apple.
Now she would begin her long walk to the river. She walked towards the front gate, there were two guards standing talking amongst themselves. She approached the guards, she looked to the guard on her right, then asked. "Will you open the gate for me?"
"Sure, do you know how long you'll be gone?"
"A couple hours shouldn't be anymore than that." she looked back and forth between the two guards.
"Okay, we'll wait for your return."
The guards turned the wheel that open the gate, the gate opened slowly making loud noises as it opened. Once the gate was fully opened she walked through to the outside of the castle's defending wall. She tilted her head back, and took in a deep breath of air. It was even sweeter outside, than when she was inside the castle. A smile crept across her lips, as she began to walked to left towards the river. On her walk she saw horses running freely, she was enjoying her walk so for. Feeling the wind blowing through her hair, she watched the grass swaying in the wind. The grass came up to her knees. She continued to walk ahead towards the river. She reached the outside of a small forest, the trees were twenty to thirty feet tall, the river was just on the other side of the forest. She walked into the forest, she saw rabbits chasing each other around.
Her thoughts started to drift towards Lelawey, she was worried that something is happening to her right this very moment, but all mothers worried over there children. She was sure that Melanie would protect her, with her life. The wind blew by, taking her worries with it. She continued her walk to the river along the dirt path, she remember the last time she had come to the river, it was two years ago. She has been traveling since then to find Thorn's body, or whatever is left of it, and the people who taken it. She was sure that she was getting close, just a bit more searching. She was nearing the end of the forest, then she'd be at the river. She looked around the forest one more time, before she exited it, on she was standing on the outside of the forest, she could smell the scent of the river.
A smile crept across her face, her walk was halfway done. As she approached the river, she saw the fishes swimming and jumping out of the water. There was a rock two-feet from the river, she walked over to it and sat down. She just looked around absorbing the scenery, it was a beautiful sight to behold. The water running over the rocks, the fishes swimming, the wind still blowing through her hair. She looked to her right, and she saw deer drinking from the river. She set her gaze back to the river, after a second she realized that something spook the deer off, she heard someone sneaking up behind her. Lily stood up quickly and drew her knife, and turned to face whatever sneaking up. When she saw who it was, she sheathed her knife.
"It's nice to see you again, Cyrus," she greeted him, with a smile. "It's nice to see you again too, Lily. How are things going with your search?" he asked, returning her a smile.
Cyrus has long black braid hair, blue eyes, long beard, muscular body, white skin, he wore fur boots, brown parts, a fox pelt belt, tan shirt, wolf pelt coat, brown finger-less gloves, he stands at six-foot, age sixty, clan druid.
"Not very well." she said sadly.
"Still haven't found him I see, well you will find him. I know you can do it, Lily." he said, as he walked towards her, and rested his right hand on her shoulder.
"I know. I can see why you were a great teacher. Thorn was very lucky to have you as a teacher." she smiled.
"Thorn, was a good student. I'm still sadden by his death, if you ever need anything just let me know." he gave her a heart warming smile.
He tilted his head back, and by the look on his face. He was listening to nature, he looked at Lily and said. "Nature is so amazing. When do you plan to start, Lelawey's training?" he asked. "I don't know, Thorn started his training when he was thirteen. Do you want to start he training, then?" she asked.
"Yes, when she is thirteen, I will begin her training," he assured, with a gentle smile.
"Good, I wouldn't have one else... except Thorn," she said, as a tear fell down her cheek.
"He would've had a great teacher, he is much wiser than myself." he laughed. "Gaia, is sadden that one of her child was lost, she mourns him. His soul never found its way to her, I think it's waiting to be found."
The sun was setting, the sky was turning pink and it almost dark. After hearing what he said about Thorn she decided to head back to Marden. "It's almost dark, and I should be heading back home," she said. "I know, tell Lelawey I said hi," He said, with another heart warming smile. ""I will," she said, as she started walking back into the forest.
She walked along the dirt path, the scenery was different as she was walking back. There were owl hooting in the tree, they watched her as she walked by them. She threw them a smile, and continued walking back home. It was dark now, the scent of the air had changed, the only light was the moon now, shining its beautiful silver light. She heard wolves howls in the distance. Hearing them howl, reminded Lily of the first time Thorn summoned
the wolves to protect her, it was during the war, the first time she had met him. She smiled brightly, she continued walking, she knew it wouldn't be long before she'd be home and able to give Lelawey a hug. She reached the other end of the forest. She saw the silver light of the moon, dancing in the field. There was a pack of deer laying down for the night. She wonder if Thorn ever went for walks on clear nights, and did he see the same beauty in the night and day as she did? Almost everything reminded her of him, she still couldn't believe he was gone.
After walking the long field she reached the front gate of Marden. "It's me Lily, let me in!" she yelled, to the guards. She waiting a second and the gate started to slowly open. She walked inside, and headed to her room. She entered her room with haste. She saw Lelawey sleeping on her bed, and Melanie setting in the chair next to the bed.
"She's been sleep for some time now," Melanie explained.
"Did she behave herself?"
"Yes, we went for a walk to that tree in the courtyard, I think she was talking to it," she smiled.
Lily got a surprised look on her face. She talked to Eden, just like I saw Thorn do eight years ago, she thought. "Did she say anything about talking to, Eden?" Lily asked.
"Nope," she answered. "Why don't you ask her, tomorrow."
"Yeah, I headed to bed, anyway."
Melanie didn't say anything, she just got up and walked away. Lily knew that's the way she acted at times, she walked over to her redwood dresser, got out a nightgown. She got undressed and put on her nightgown. She turned around and walked to the bed. She got into bed next to Lelawey. She closed her eyes and said. "I love you, Thorn." She almost started crying, but the silver light shining on her face, she turned her thoughts to happier things, she went peacefully to sleep.
