Chapter Thirteen:
Those words uttered by his brother started to make his stomach turn. Four of his fingers wrapped around the cold metal of his gun. Nervously Mimi grasped her fiancé’s free in attempt to calm down. Masaru’s face cringed at the pair but he quickly shrugged it off. Matthew pulled another gun from his pocket and aimed it at Stephen. But his boss shook his head ‘no’. Confused he gradually lowered the weapon. In a booming voice, Rodgers demanded that Shoji join him. Still in shock from his mother’s vile demise, he staggered over to Mimi’s right side.
“Take her out of here. I’ll fix this mess.” Stephen spoke removing ‘Stephanie’ from his pants.
“S-sure t-thing.” Shoji stuttered, pulling the young lady away from the dining facility.
“You Italian people, always assume that you can step over people.” Masaru sneered, unsheathing one his swords.
“And what less can say about the Japanese, it’s the nature of human beings. It’s also in the nature of human beings to crave revenge!” Stephen growled, shooting his brother in the heart. As a last action Matthew’s hand pulled the trigger of his gun and the bullet pierced into Mr. Rodgers left leg. Then Masaru swung his glistening sword at the wounded man. Filled with pain he dragged over just in time to miss the first sway. Gritting his teeth the Italian pulled the trigger of Stephanie and shot two shells into the Japanese’s shoulder. Mr. Kotara cursed then thrust his sword into the man’s gut. A sharp twinge ran up his body and blood drained from his tight physique. Masaru withdrew his blade then slid the fine point across his opponents face, making a jagged line from his eye lid to his mouth. Shrieking in horror he shot an entire round into the Japanese’s body until he fell to the ground. A grin was on his face as he lifted himself back up. With one hand he pulled off his shirt revealing his bullet proof vest. Hot shells dropped to the ground with an echoing clink. “F**k!”
“That’s right Stephen…growl. Cry out for aid. No one can help you now.” Masaru snickered, cutting the man’s shirt off. In tiny shreds the cotton fell to the floor revealing his bloody torso, fine incisions, and deep wounds. Then he moved his face so close to his that there noses touched. “I am going to take this sword, and shove it up your ass. Every second I will take pleasure in invading you. I want you to scream my name and beg for mercy.”
“Is that right?” Stephen smiled halfheartedly, as his hand snuck into his pocket. “I guess next your going to say that you are so merciful that you’ll kill me right.”
“Something liked that.” Masaru smirked wickedly, before backing away. “I was told never to play with my enemies, but with a toy like you…who could resist? Now enough small talk, play time is over, get on your knees and pray to your god. I’ll finish this event once and for all.”
Just as he was preparing to stab Stephen, he rolled his side then pulled out a mini-gun. He shot three shells into the Japanese’s skull. Masaru’s corpse fell to earth with a soft thud.
“I have to…get to… Mimi.” Mr. Rodgers grimaced, as he dragged himself out. “My wife.”
In a deserted hallway Mimi and Shoji sat down and talked. The short man was quaking uncontrollably. All over the walls and his body he saw non-palpable blood. Only Mimi seemed clean to him. So he leaned his head on her chest and cried softly. This isn’t what he wanted his life to be like. Always afraid, alone, and swathed in darkness. Hesitant Ms. Kotara held him while stroking his sticky hair. Tightly he embraced her while chocking out tears. From the end of the hall they heard foot steps. Hopeful Mimi looked up but was more surprised than anything. Standing there in a stately pose was a tall thin man, with a neatly shaven head. His skin was unbelievably pale and his eyes a foggy sapphire. Underneath his pointy nose was a thin mustache that curled upwards. In a fearful tone, the girl whispered “Serenity.” Shoji eyes looked up and his face started to contort in anger. Quickly he stood in front of Mimi, his arms stretched wide.
“You can’t have her! She is my pure one!” Mr. Hitomi snarled.
“You are forgetting little brother. It was I that was to marry her. It was I who has suffered years in a vault until this very day. You also forget that you let her be spoiled by some worthless Italian. Do you really think she is pure and unused?”
“I don’t care about that!” Shoji retorted.
“Of course you don’t. That’s why our clan is in this predicament.” Serenity spoke in his flawless English accent. From his pocket he removed a pistol and shot his brother in the chest four times, and once in both legs. Squealing Mimi caught the dying CEO. Before the pale man could shoot her, sirens echoed from outside and he dashed up the stairs to the helicopter pad. There waiting for him was a white copter with a red ‘X’ on each side. Quickly he got inside ordering the driver to hurry.
A smile came on Stephen’s face when he heard Mimi’s voice. But soon it faded as he noticed the words were laced with sorrowful croaks. Tears were dripping from her eyes to Shoji’s light face. Looking into his beloved's eye he reached up to her. Blood stained her peachy face, but it didn’t matter to her.
“Why did you come to this horrible place, my pure one? Japan is where you were happy.”
“But I wanted…so badly to love you Shoji to be held by you. Even if I had to struggle and suffer—“
“Yet I rejected you.” Hitomi whispered, his eyes losing its color. “At least you found someone who truly loves you. More than I ever could.”
“Hold on Shoji-kun! We are going to take you to the hospital…and everything is going to be alright—“
“No…Mimi I am ready to die. All this time I have worked for affection…have I ever earned it? I am nothing to anyone, just a pawn. I have lost it all, even you. Now what point is there in life?”
“You still have my love Shoji-kun. Remember, the sakura tree…the one we would lay under as children? We can go and visit it again. You and I can be friends and you can start your life over.”
“But you won’t be mine. Time has given you to Stephen. I am nothing to anyone just a pawn.” The tired man repeated as his eyes began to close.
“Stop saying that! You are more than a pawn to me! You are my friend and my first love! Please don’t die Shoji-kun. Please don’t go away! Not now!” Mimi bawled, her hot tears drenching his face.
“M-Mimi...Mimi…Mi…I love…”
A soft breath exceeded his blood crusted lips as he passed away gently in her arms. Crying louder she grasped onto his corpse while stroking his ebony hair. Stephen lifted her up and dragged her away from him. At that time he wished he could carry her, but his leg was aching from the wound. Once they reached outside the police pointed there guns at them. The chief spoke to the officers and had them lower there weapons. Quickly he rushed over to the couple.
“Are you the only two left?”
“Yes, two others are dead in there. Both are of Japanese decent. You know what to do in this matter.”
“Of course, Mr. Hitomi instructed me thoroughly sir.” The chief replied, before sending the S.W.A.T. team in.
Standing behind an ambulance was Henry whose face appeared just as grieved as Mimi’s. Stephen approached him alone then whispered into his ears. Then in a cracked voice the man replied, “The Devil has emerged. The Stage is set. The War dance has begun.”
“Watch out for Mimi, I am going to find him. No matter how long it takes, the demon will devour the devil.”
THE END
A/N: Ya the last chapter. YAY. Something is finished!! Okay there is going to be a sequel to this. It’s going to be Action/ Drama. So if you are interested keep in eye out. Now if you don’t mind, I have to do a little section for one of my favorite characters.
Hitomi Shoji
It pained me to kill this guy off, actually I cried when I did.
First off he was born into a yakuza family. By the time he was five he was competing with his older brother to win Mimi’s hand. Unfortunately they didn’t want him to marry her. So Serenity got to be with her. But he discovered that Mimi was in love with him too. In secret they began to go off together and play games in the gardens. Until one day they were caught, and Mimi was sent to her room for what was supposed to be only a moment. Being the curious one that she is, she stayed down to watch what was happening. Hitomi Shinji then pulled out a gun and aimed it at Shoji, but Serenity took it from him. Shinji had another weapon that would presumably kill him. But as you find out in the last chapter it didn’t. Distraught the father walked out of the home were police cars were lined up. He took the gun and shot himself in the head. The rest you pretty much know, Shoji and Mimi made a vow. Then he and his mother moved to America to escape all the bloodshed.
Tell me what you think of your favorite and least favorite characters. Also any advice would be truly appreciated. Thank you for your time!
