Measures of Time
Time flows like a river
A river with no end
No end, no obstacle
Nothing to hinder the path of time
But what measures time?
The ticks of a clock?
The beats of a heart?
The taps of a foot?
What goes on between the ticks?
Between the beats of the heart?
When the foot isn’t tapping?
Does that mean time has stopped?
But time never stops
Does this mean we are timeless?
That time is only a mere restriction?
That time is merely a way to measure our lives?
Our lives, or what we make of it
The things we do
The places we go
The people we meet
Does time really make a difference?
A different in what we make of our lives?
Or is time just a reminder?
A reminder of the very thing we’re running out of?
Time is like a river
A river that we sail upon
The flows and currents are beyond our control
But whether we fight the currents or not can affect everything
Time flows like a river
A river with no end
No end, no obstacle
Nothing to hinder the path of time
