I wish I could forget.
I wish I could un-embrace you,

Wipe you clean.
I wish I could forget you.
I wish you were nothing more than a broken memory.
I wish you were just a pretty image.

Well, I wish I could forget you,

But I know
I know
I know I can’t.
You came to me like a revelation.
You were my great discovery,
And you called the world to life.
And that’s not something that I can forget.

But I wish
I wish
I wish I could forget you.
Rub you away like today’s grime.
I wish it would only take a spot of soap and a hard scrub.
But I know you can’t
You can’t be wiped away.
A tricky little angel,
You glued yourself to my soul.

I wish I could forget.
I wish I could un-embrace you,

Wipe you clean.
I wish I could forget you.
I wish you were nothing more than a broken memory.
I wish you were just a pretty image.
But you mean, you mean so much to me.
And I can’t break free from you.

Well, I wish I could forget.
I wish I could break free.
I wish I could escape.
I wish

But I can’t.

Can’t
Can’t get over you.

You’re just not something I can forget.
