I haven’t written anything in a while, so I really wanted to write something. I have been working on this for a while, but I could never seem to figure out how to say what I wanted to. I’m not totally happy with it, but I think this is as good as it is going to get. It is dedicated to my best friend who has always been there for me. She keeps me going and makes sure I don’t do anything stupid (like cutting myself again).

That shines down on me

Lighting my path

Making it easier to see

But what is there to see?

I see the value of my life

That my light cares for me

So I can’t end it with a knife

I am your darkness

The yang to your yin

You are the pure one

While I’m so full of sin

But I’ve learned to accept that

For my light doesn’t seem to mind

My light says that light needs darkness

I wonder if she’s just being kind

As much as I love my light

I don’t believe her one bit

How can someone so great

Need someone so imperfect

But no one is perfect, or at least

That’s what my light would say

But she is once again wrong

My light’s perfect in every way

So who is my light?

She is my best friend

And I hope she will be my light
