Sitting here in a moment that is just too normal to be important in the sense of thing that matter

Watching as you smile across at me from a drunkonlove hangover

Lies are so common I don’t believe myself

And I smile back (but I can’t remember if I meant it)

Your hand on mine used to mean more or something but habits replaced reasons

So I stick my tongue in your mouth looking for some sort of an answer to a question I didn’t understand

I scream in silence for you to respond

“I love you” you say

And I wish I could ask you what that meant
