Idolatry is like a bad taste
I stick out my tongue but it’s too late
I have swallowed some of my own waste
Blessings and curses – I’ve chose my fate

God, where are you in my wretched life?
I hate to place you upon a shelf
Must I give in to such hate and strife?
Much like a fool, I made god myself

Tell me, what am I trying to do?
Who am I really trying to be?
Cast off my own, and try on Your shoes
I want to be filled - no me, just Thee
