It’s hard to forget the memories;

The times when all I could feel was her s k i n & the pressure of ‘this will never work out’

As she whispers,

“Why won’t you let me save you?”

Running her fingers along the s.c.a.r.s on my hipbone, opening old wounds.

Making me look into her eyes

& I want to scream, to tell her

- “Because I wish I could save myself”
