The Sinner's Prayer

Every night before I sleep

I pray the Lord, my soul will keep.

And every morning as I wake

I thank the Lord for sinner’s sake.

And from the sinners mouth a song

To bring me back where I belong.

And from the sinners heart a prayer

That, in good faith, he’ll keep me there.

I pray and hope I'll feel no fear

As long as He keeps me near.

I pray and hope that in the black

He'll be my light and guide me back.

And when I'm lost, or feeling pain

And hurting in my darkest shame

That I'll remember what's out of sight,

And was so clear when seen in light.

And every night before I dream

I know I've been already seen

Before I cry, before I laugh

He's seen whats coming and what's gone past

And when I rise to greet the day

I'll know the sinner can be saved
