what's the point in wishing
wishing, wishing, wishing?
all i do is wish my life away
with these thoughts that will never come true.

all i do is watch the clock
while i watch that boy with pretty eyes smile.
i make my wishes with eyes closed
and fingers crossed -
the same wish everytime.

what's the point in wishing
wishing, wishing, wishing?
all i do is wish my life away
with these thoughts that will never come true.

pretty-eyed boy asks me what i wish for,
i close, close, close my eyes and turn my head.
pretty-eyed boy asks again
while i lay on his stomach and hide
my feelings.
pretty-eyed boy says, "do you wish for me to love you?"
i kiss his nose, don't answer, and hide, again.
does pretty-eyed boy think that i am pretty?

he tells me, "you don't have to wish for that."
but i do, every day.
every day.
i wish i was her
and that you loved me --
because i love a pretty-eyed boy.
