A childhood song stuck in my head.

You are my sunshine,
My only sunshine.

The few words I have caught in my throat.

A grin slapped across my face;

But, really, though, I’m not trying to look like a clown.

You make me happy,
When skies are grey.

I can’t believe: my heart is dancing
And my smiling cheeks are numb.

My world revolves merely in a sing-along-song.

You’ll never know, dear,
How much I love you.

And I laugh, because I know that

If you caught me humming, you would sing along.

And they say this is love.

Please don’t take my sunshine away.
