You Face the Heat

You face the heat, you face the wind

You face death and you face sin

Forgive us for our selfish words

Forgive us for our hateful world

Never lose hope and never let go

You feel it all but it never shows

Here at home is where you belong

And War is why we sing this song

“Dancing round a burning wood

Dancing round like no one should

Falling down, falling down

Falling up, and falling round

Devil dogs, and demon men

Demon children in the devil’s den”

The sand is coarse, the rocks are hot

The war is something you never thought

You miss your home, you miss it all

You miss your friends, you miss your mom

Bombs are here and bombs are there

Bombs on bodies, bombs everywhere

A single command and here we stand

A million voices finally understand:

“We're dancing round a burning bush

Dancing round in one big rush

Falling darkness, falling night

Falling angels, failing light

Devil dogs, and demon men

Demon children in the devil’s den”

But no one’s listening, no one cares

Destroy the world! destroy our heirs!

There’s nothing left to label,

Nothing left that’s able

Grief is all we’re allowed to know

But you never, never let it show…

A/N: Another little poem... I seem to be very politically motivated today.
