An Angel’s Kiss

Prologue

“Miles?” A young woman calls out as she approached slowly behind a young man with long, black hair with red lining along the ends of his hair. This strangely handsome man also had piercing eyes of slate. Miles snapped his head towards her, staring at her with his cold eyes. The woman of immaculate beauty had curly, golden locks, soft eyes, emerald in color and skin as fair and white as snow. As she drew closer to him, she threw her arms around him, and rested her cheek against his black plated armor. Hesitantly, he wrapped his arms around her, curling one arm about her head.

“Oh Miles,” she said, “I can’t believe them…It can’t be true!”

“Darling…It is…” Miles spoke. “It’s true of what I am: a monster.”

The woman looked up at him and glowered at him.

“How can you admit it’s true?!” She yelled at him scornfully.

Miles glared back down at her, widening his frozen eyes.

“It’s true, and I will never deny it, even for you.” He spat back at her and the beauty gasped with hurt eyes. “Miles!”

Sighing, the man removed his arms from her and stepped back. The woman stared with vulnerable eyes and dropped her arms to her sides. As she shook her head, she burst into tears. The man turned away and exhaled once more.

“I never said I loved you, you’re only foolish to believe that I did.” Miles retorted. He turned his head slightly only to glance at her from the corner of his eye.

“Indeed I was a fool,” she sobbed, “But the love I had for you was no lie.” She walked slowly closer to him.

“I love you!” She cried out emphatically.

“How can you love such a creature such as me?” He snapped at her, turning towards her. Taken aback by his remark, she stepped back but then straightened up and held her head high.

“Creature or not, you have my heart and no such angel in heaven will ever steal it away from you.” She replied affectionately.

He snorted and turned around again, his back facing the woman. “Love has made a fool out of you.” He turned his head to her and glared at her again. “I’m leaving…For good!”

Like a knife stabbed to her heart, she gaped at his words and abruptly fell to her knees. Bursting into tears once more, she cried out in grief and pain, sobbing through choked sobs. Nodding quickly, she raised her head once more up to him.

“Go then!” She screamed at him, provoked. “Go! I don’t want you any more!” She screamed once more, throwing her fists at the grass covered ground.

Staring at her, he nodded and turned around and then vanished in thin air. Collapsing on the ground, she looked up with at the sky, her eyes filling up with tears once more. She sniffed as she looked up at the starry night sky, looking at the celestial beauty, believed of celestial beings reigning over it. She closed her eyes and tears streamed down her cheeks.
