Title: Eat Your Heart Out
Setting: Starts in small town goes to New York City
Type of Story: Vampire
"Nah, I'm good thanks." I said. Like always people in Maine were more polite than necessary.
"Do you need a ride? I mean you are pulled over and you looked a bit in need of some type of help." I felt his need to help me out someway but I shook my head.
"No, it's not necessary, I just needed to rest a bit, I'm good." In my head I was cursing him from making me have to get back to driving. I put it in gear. "Sorry for worrying you I smiled." Go to hell asshole. I thought. He smiled and waved as I drove off. I turned down the street that I know led to the sports bar. My brother was only 16, but he could pass for someone old enough to drink. He had the face of an older man, and he was only a boy.
I parked outside and climbed out. If we were in my old hometown someone would know that he was underage, but when our mother died we decided it was best to move up here. The memories of her dead and our father walking out on us were too hard. I got out of the car and walked towards the sports bar doors. The guy at the door stopped me. "No underage kids allowed in." He said looking me up and down. I sighed, everyone thought I looked like I was 17 or something. I held up the drivers license and showed that I was 21, and he nodded letting me in.
I spotted the black hair my brother had. He was hanging out with his newest friends, a group of 21 year olds that just had their birthdays. They were way too old for him, but he never listens to me anymore. My brother smiled up at me when I walked over to the group. I could tell he was drunk. "Great, I love that you all got my brother drunk. If you weren't morons I would punch you here and now." I told them directly. I would do more than punch them, I would kill them on the spot. I grabbed my brother's shoulder. "Come on lets go home." I said. He was willing enough to comply, but one of the guys walked towards me angrily.
"I don't think he wants to go mommy dearest." He was in my face and I felt his hands sliding down my waist. I slapped him across the face and pushed him away. He stumbled back a few inches, but he was far stronger than I was. "Oh, she is fiesty."
"I'm taking my brother home." I explained and as I pulled my brother, Riley, to his feet I backed into someone.
"Maybe we don't want you to go home." The man behind me said. This time I had no way to stop him when he wrapped his arms around my waist. My brother stood up then.
"Let go of my sister man, that's not cool." He told him.
"I just want to play a little spin the bottle." He said and began kissing my neck.
"Let go of me!" I yelled struggling to get free, but the bar was too noisy and they were surrounding me no one could tell what was going on. I struggled and they came closer. I saw one of them fall as if in slow motion and then like the red sea they were parted.
"She said to let go of her." The person who had pulled them apart told me.
"We just want to have a little fun." The guy still holding me said.
"Let go of her," the guy directed his gaze towards the guy behind me, and suddenly I felt him release me, and I was falling, but the other man caught me.
"Okay, guys lets split." The guy who had been holding me said. The others nodded and followed him out.
"Are you okay?" The man said, he wasn't any man, he was the guy who had stopped on the side of the road to help me out. Something told me it wasn't coincidence that he was here.
"I'll be fine when you let me go." I told him. He didn't release me.
"If I let you go, you are going to get out of here quickly and it's only a matter of time until one of those guys track you both down again." He told me. My brother was staring at us.
"What are you talking about?"
"Just trust me, you don't want to go." He switched positions so he was holding me around my waist and I could walk. "Come on Riley, we need to find you guys a safe place to rest." The man said. Shock suddenly filled every part of my body. He already knew who my brother was. Riley followed him slowly, but I could tell he didn't want to.
He directed us to the car he drove which was a very expensive looking viper. He placed me in the passenger seat and buckled me in like a child as Riley got in in back. He closed the door behind me. "Riley on three we are going to jump out, One, two, three." I said I in those seconds I had unbuckled my self and swung out of the car. I didn't get far before the man had grabbed me against and was walking to his side of the car.
"I had a feeling you would try to run." He told me and he sat down in his side of the car. He had muscles like the god and I could tell, for my back was rested against his chest.. He gently grabbed me like he was carrying a child and put me into the passenger seat from the drivers seat. He buckled me in before checking the rear view mirror for Riley, who had not moved. "You good back there Riley?" Riley nodded. "Kirsten, I know this is scary, but you have to trust me." He closed his door and started up the engine. He pulled out and I was already freaking out, but sleep was beginning to take over as we left my car behind at the sports bar. I looked up at him and he didn't seem to notice that I was almost to sleep. the last thing I thought was, how did he get those black eyes?
