when you're alone

do you paint the walls with your disappointment?

does a day go by

when you don't look at me and wonder,

dear god, was she worth it?

are my hands like vices on your skin,

do my eyes cut gashes in that smile?

am i like a bauble to you? –

so pretty, I'm so pretty but squeeze too hard

and I'll shatter (break, it means break)

what is it – what is it that you want from me

are you sick with disenchantment?

(all i do is bite my nails and sigh –

that victory march of yours, it's lacking inspiration)

read a book once in a while:

i promise you it's worth it.
