terro is reminding me
reminding me
that whatever lives
must die
i look at him
i am confused
“does that mean you and i will
someday die?”
i question
he looks at me
with those distraught eyes
he's thinking about
how innocent i can be
just the little boy doll
with the half-shut eyes
he answers,
“no, we will live forever.
in pieces or put together.”
oh, how he wishes he could look away
i try to smile, but my lips are forever frozen
in this flamboyant smirk
our conversation is ended as she walks in the room
her beauty and grace
as all living things have
she doesn't spare us a glance
or a chance
i wish she'd realize
how wonderful
it is to be alive
