My sister, brother and I walked over to the security gates. The first thing I saw was our father. The second thing I saw was a slim blond clinging to his waist, as if her life depended on it.

“That’s his new girlfriend. The one I was telling you about,” my brother, Evan, whispered.

“Ah, the bimbo,” I said glancing at her again.

“Eva! You don’t even know her. She might not even be a ‘bimbo’, as you so eloquently put it.” That would be my sister, Ava.

“So? Just look at her,” I said, my voice filled with disgust.

She had straight blond hair that went to her waist, clear blue eyes and couldn’t have been older than 25. She was also wearing skin-tight white jeans, a blue tube top and white kitten heels.

“How exactly did they get together again Evan?” Ava asked.

“We were at some store and he saw her. So he walked over to her and they started flirting. That was something I never want to see again,” Evan said, shuddering lightly. “Next thing I know she’s over at the house all the time. You should have heard the noises coming from the be--”

Evan stopped talking about my dad and the bimbo getting it on. Thank God for that. That was one thing that I never, ever wanted to see or hear.

My dad wrapped me in a huge bear hug once I was in front of him. He even picked me up and swung me around. I guess I should say that I weigh only 110 pounds. I’ve always been skinny. My dad put me down and picked Ava up. Ava was only 14 and we weighed the same amount. I was 16, soon to be 17 (in exactly a month) and a 14 year old weighed the same amount of me.

After my dad finished greeting us, his bim--I mean girlfriend stepped forward.

“Girls, meet my girlfriend Missy. Missy, this is Eva and Ava,” he said smiling at us.

Missy stepped even closer. Then she pulled me to her and gave me a hug. Can you say personal space? She released me and hugged Ava.

“It’s sooo nice to meet both of you! Your father has told me so much about you two,” she said and winked at my father. Before I could throw up, my dad winked back at her.

Gag me.

“Oh Bryan! You certainly weren’t lying. Your girls are absolutely gorgeous,” Missy said.

I should also state for the record that I’m beautiful (other peoples words, NOT MINE!). I didn’t think I was anything special, but…if you asked anyone they would say I was crazy. This has actually happened a lot.

I didn’t understand why people where obsessed with beauty. Some people wouldn’t even be friends or better yet, look at people if they were ugly and/or had a bad case of acne. I had absolutely no problem with people who didn’t rank high on the ‘hotness-scale’.

“I’m glad you two decided to live with us,” my dad said to Ava and me. “How was your mother’s wedding?”

Yes, I guess I forgot to mention why my sister and I moved here. Basically our mother and father are divorced; they have been for 10 years. Anyways, my mother just got married; well the wedding was yesterday to be exact. So my sister and I decided that she deserved--needed really--a break from us. Plus who wanted to live in a house with newlyweds?

“The wedding was good. Mom was nervous, Chad was even worse. Though, you can’t really blame him, it was his first wedding,” I said.

“Mom looked gorgeous too. When I get married, I want a dress like hers!” Ava exclaimed.

“She said she would call us tomorrow, to make sure everything is alright,” Evan said.

“That’s nice,” my father said. “Are you guys hungry or anything?”

“Yes.” We answered together.

“Please feed me,” Evan begged.

Half an hour later, we found ourselves at a small Chinese restaurant called Mr. Ming’s. We had ordered a lot of food, and when I say a lot, I mean tons. The entire table was filled with food. There were plates of fried rice, pot stickers, egg rolls, beef with broccoli, chow mein, and kung pao chicken. Evan and my father ate at least half of the food, while Ava, Missy and I split the rest.

“So, are you excited to be starting a new school?” Missy asked me.

“I guess, it’s probably the same as every other high school,” I said.

“You forgot one thing,” my dad said to me. I raised an eyebrow in confusion. “Your bro--”

“Is Mr. Popular,” Evan said, grinning like an idiot.

“That’s right! How could I have forgotten?” I asked sarcastically.

“It’s beyond me,” my brother said, shrugging his shoulders.

“How many notches do you have in your belt now?” I asked.

“Too many to count,” he said.

“You two are disgusting,” Ava said, wrinkling her nose.

“What group were you in in your old school?” Missy asked.

“Eva here was the queen bee,” Ava said.

“Really?” Missy asked, eyes sparkling with delight. “How many hearts did you break?”

“Too many to count,” I said, smiling at my brother. His face started to turn red, which only happened when he was angry.

Oh, shit.

Guess I forgot to mention another thing. My brother was extremely overprotective. If he had lived with my mother, Ava and I for the past 2 or 3 years, I would have been a loser. Basically, I was forbidden to everyone.

“What was that?” he asked, his eyes turning darker by the minute.

“Relax Evan. I never slept with any of them. They were too stupid.” I said.

“How’s Jared?” Ava asked Evan, changing the subject.

“He’s good. Can’t wait to see you two,” he said smiling at us. Jared was Evan’s best friend. He was almost like an older brother to us.

“He still going out with Ms. Bitch-Face?” I asked, ignoring my father’s look of shock at the word’s I used.

“Yes he’s still going out with Casey.

“That’s too bad. I thought he was smarter than that,” I said.

Now, I’m sure you are all wondering who Ms. Bitch-Face is. Her real name is Casey Shutter and she is the typical Queen Bee. She has long blond hair, clear blue eyes and she’s tall and skinny. You are probably wondering why I hate her, right? Well, sorry, but you’ll find out soon enough.

“Still don’t like her?” my father asked, holding in his laughter. Smart move, smart move.

“Why, whatever gave you that idea?” I asked in faux surprise.

“What are you talking about?” Missy asked confused.

“Oh just Jared’s girlfriend, Casey. Eva doesn’t like her,” my father told her.

“Why don’t you like her? She seems like such a good girl,” Missy said.

“Oh, no reason really,” Ava replied for me. Missy just nodded and we started eating again.

We finally got home at 9. My dad drove his black SUV up to our house--or should I say mansion. He parked the car in front of the fountain and got out.

“Did you change anything?” Ava asked, climbing out of the car.

“No, everything is the same. I added more flowers and the pool is bigger now,” my dad replied.

“Don’t forget the tennis court!” Evan yelled.

“Oh, yes. We added a tennis court and fixed the basketball court.”

“Sounds good. You know where I’ll be tomorrow,” I said glancing at Evan.

“No Eva. I will not play tennis with you and loose. I refuse!” Evan said.

“You say that now, but wait until tomorrow,” I said, grinning at him.

“Why don’t we go inside so you and Ava should unpack,” Missy said.

We nodded and grabbed the bags. We walked through the hallway, and up the stairs. I pulled two suitcases down the hallway to my room. I dropped the suitcases and opened my room. It was exactly the same as the last time I had been in it.

The walls were painted sea green with pale yellow specks thrown on it. The right side of my room was all glass, with a view of the pool and flowers. In the corner of the left side was a little sitting area. There was a leather couch on one side and a love seat on the opposite side with a coffee table in-between them. At the end of my room was my queen sized bed with a sea green and pale yellow comforter on it. To the right of it was a door that led to my big bathroom. One the other side was a door that led to my huge closet. Over by the ‘sitting area’ was my desk and bookshelf filled with countless books (another thing to mention, reading is my number one hobby.). By the door, was my entertainment center. The entire thing was on wheels, so when I wanted to watch TV in bed, I just wheeled it over.

I went back outside and grabbed my last bag. As soon as I was done unpacking I went downstairs. I found everyone is the kitchen eating cookies and drinking milk.

“Done already?” my dad asked raising an eyebrow.

“Yeah, mom wouldn’t let me take everything.”

“Really?” Missy asked. “I was thinking, how would you and Ava like to go shopping tomorrow? We could get our hair cut, get mani/pedi’s, go to the spa, and shop ‘till we drop. What do you guys think?”

How about no.

I looked at Ava and she raised an eyebrow and moved her head to the side, indicating that I was going to go. I rolled my eyes at her and turned to the bimbo.

“We’d love to go,” I said.

Missy beamed at us and started chatting on and on, about how much fun we would have.

“Make sure you guys buy some dresses and make sure you get your hair done,” my father said.

I just stared at him blankly, “why?”

“Did I forget to tell you? My law firm is having a party tomorrow and we are all going. How else am I supposed to show off my two beautiful daughters?”

everyone headed off to bed after that comment, except for me. I sat at the counter staring into space. I was so out of it that when the phone rang, I jumped. I quickly calmed myself down and answered the phone.

“Hello?” I said.

“Hey,” a male’s voice drawled out.

“Who’s this?”

“Who’s this?”

“Excuse me?” I asked confused.

“Are you mentally retarded? I just asked who this is,” the male voice said again.

“This is Eva and this is my house. So, who the hell is this?” I asked angrily, ready to snap.

“Shane.”

“Well, Shane. How in the hell can I help you?”

“Is Evan there?” ‘Shane’ asked.

“He’s asleep so call back tomorrow,” I said and hung up.

I had a bad feeling about ‘Shane’ and I had a feeling that I would be seeing more of him.

So, what did you guys think? I’m not sure if I like this chapter a lot. It was that long either, only 6 ½ pages. If you noticed any spelling/ grammar mistakes or if things didn’t make sense, please tell me and I’ll try to fix them. I don't have a beta on this site, so please excuse the mistakes, I tried to find everything.

Review and tell me what you thought! Questions, comments?
