Destroy

Lorna Dwyer January 2007

Why didn’t you just kill me?

Go on, twist the knife in my back.

Don’t stop now.

You got the support speech down.

I trusted you then

Now with calm words

You strike!

I almost didn’t notice,

Till the pain started.

Why don’t you grind my heart,

You already tore it out.

How could you be,

So unfeeling?

So coldly selfish

I tell you everything

I trust you for a moment

You destroy me.
