HOMICIDOPHILIA

Group: Dawn of the Duotangs

By: Jillian, Ryan, Jordan

Genre: Thriller/Drama

Audience: Fans of thriller/dramas

Scene 1: The Secret Of The Waiting Graves

Location: School - Classroom

Nike is shown walking through an empty hallway, backpack slung over his shadow, his head hung low. The credits move over top of this sequence and are finalized as he reaches his classroom and enters. Silently he takes a seat at his desk as the teacher notices his arrival, saying nothing but definitely noticing. Nike rests his head.

Teacher: Nike, you’re over there.

Nike: This- this is... What?

Teacher: You’re over there, go. We have group projects, take your sheet and go. I had to pair you off with Glen and Lance.

The teacher looks at Nike and hands him a sheet, Nike grumpily dragging his chair over next to Glen and Lance. Nike sits without saying a word and silently begins to read over his sheet.

Glen: Y’know Nike, you’re gonna have to have to work on this. You can’t just sit around and let us fail. You’re a part of the team.

Nike: What would you know about my work habits, GLEN?

Glen: Come on man, you’ve handed in nothin’ all semester.

Nike: That doesn’t mean I didn’t do the work.

Lance: Don’t change a thing. Nice shoes by the way.

Glen: Very nice.

Nike: Well should we not be working on this? You don’t know a thing about me, I’d like to keep it that way. If that was a subtle pry for some sort of wordly attention you aren’t going to gain anything from it.

Lance: Right... Yeah, that’s what I was- ... Nice shoes.

Nike hides his feet under the desk, Glen and Lance folding their arms nigh simultaneously. The bell rings and Nike nods to both of them, reciting

Nike: Glen, Lance... We’ll speak later.

Scene 2: Year One

Location - Nike’s home

Nike is sitting quietly at home until he hears a rapping on his door. Letting himself up to open it, he discovers Glen and Lance in his doorway.

Nike: What? Get away from my house.

Lance: Yeah, not now, we need you to get to work.

Nike: Why are you so damned obsessed with how I do this? We’ve got a week.

Glen: You’re the weak one-

Nike: What?

Glen: Listen, we’re not the smartest guys, none of us. If I fail this, I fail the class, simple as that. Not gonna happen.

Glen and Lance shove themselves through the doorway, breathing outwards as they take in his home.

Lance: Take me to your pad.

Glen: Pad?

Lance: Your pad...

Nike escorts the boys up to his pad, splaying out his backpack and reaching for his work supplies.

Nike: I’ll be... I’ll come right back. Don’t wait for me.

Lance: Oh we will.

Nike leaves the room, leaving Glen and Lance alone. They begin to scour his room for objects of interest.

Glen: The freak likes insert object .

Lance: Hey, a photo album. Do you think he’s got siblings?

Lance cracks open the book to discover a large amount of newspaper clippings all detailing murders, photos of families spread out through them.

Glen: Oh my G-god... What do we d-do...?

Lance: No, it’s not that bad. He thinks like us, he is like us. We can take him. We haven’t done anything. We’re safe, safe-

Nike walks into the room, staring stunned at the book on Lances lap.

Lance: YOU’RE GOING TO TEACH US.

Nike: Where did you find that?!

Lance: That’s not important, and you know full well where. This will go right to the police if you don’t listen to us. Alright? You understand?

Nike: I... I get it. What do I do?

Glen: Teach us to kill.

Scene 3: The Killing Joke

Location: Killer’s home/street

Nike, alone, is seen sitting in a chair in his home staring at a photo of a family, tapping his fingers. A cut is made to him standing in the street, motionless in front of a house. He is then pictured back inside of his home blank faced with blood on his hands.

Scene 4: Hush

Location: School

Lance and Glen are seen wasting their time on killing theories and nonsense

Lance: Do you strangle ‘em? I just wanna... I don’t even know. I really wanna feel what they feel. Their pulse slows down, their insides twitch and crap. I think a knife is best for that. It just seems right, all those feelings going right into my killing hand.

Glen: Yeah, I just wanna strangle ‘em. I figure people don’t really come in blue as much they should.

Lance: I’m gonna kill men. I’m gonna show ‘em who’s the boss. I want to waste people. Killing somebody who hasn’t worked for what they have is like cutting the grass. You’re not taking anything, just doing. That’s lame to me.

Glen: To me it’s all the same really. Listen, did you hear what happened yesterday? A whole family... Do you think it was-

Nike walks in and sits down at the table, covering both sides of his head with his forearms.

Nike: What the hell are you idiots doing? Rule number 1, do not talk about this in public.

Lance: Did you do it?

Nike: No. Do not speak of it. DO NOT! We have... work to do.

Scene 5: A Death In The Family

Location: Down the street

Nike: The first thing we’re going to have to cover, aside from the whole talking about it in public thing is what you want to do and how you want to do it.

Glen: I hate my sister. She’s a spoiled brat, and I want her dead. I want her stupid little head cut off, I want it mashed into nothing. I want there to be no trace of her. But I don’t... I don’t want to hurt my parents. I love them and they love her. But other little girls are just as annoying! I’ll kill them! I’ll strangle their heads off!

Nike: ... Don’t talk about it in public. DO NOT. Know your urges but don’t share them. Sharing leads to discovery.

Glen: You didn’t share a word of it, we still found it.

Nike: Well that’s my own damned fault now isn’t it? If you think I’m incompetent, why learn from me?

Lance: You’re the best we’ve got...

Nike: And that’s a sad thing.

Scene 6: Face The Face

Location: Nike’s home

The teacher and the wannabe’s sit together discussing murder philosophy.

Nike: Fear is a philosophy, that’s what I’ve learned. If you can learn exactly what causes fear, you can learn how to prevent it. How to kill people while they’re still happy, dreaming their sweet lives. If you wanna know what it feels like to kill somebody while they’re perfectly happy, it feels good. That’s how it feels.

Lance: I uhh... How do you do it?

Nike: You need materials. Knives, rope, costumes to fit. You need conventionals and unconventionals. Spark plugs are invaluable for breaking through windows, more on that later.

A slow montage is shown of them creeping around, sneaking up on each other blindfolded and breaking through windows.

Impatiently Glen sits and interrupts a sitting session.

Glen: How long until we kill somebody? We’ve been doing drills, theories, all that... When do we kill?

Nike: Do you think you’re ready? How about in a week?

Scene 7: Detective Comics #33

Location: The school cafeteria

Nike sits with his accomplices, stone faced and willing to answer questions:

Lance: Man, how’d you do it? How do you not get caught? That crap was out in the open we found it.

Glen: Yeah man, you’re so smart, how come you can’t hide a book?

Nike: My parents don’t come home. They won’t come home.

Glen: What’s that s’posed to mean?

Nike: They’re away somewhere warmer than here, in a house nicer than this one, and they probably don’t even know I’m here. I moved to here from far away, it was mom and dads choice, but they only stayed a week before leaving again. Families shouldn’t be like that.

Lance: Yeah they should. My family left things’d be goooood.

Nike: NO! YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT’S LIKE! THE FAMILY UNIT IS SACRED AND IT SHOULD STAY THAT WAY! IF I COULD GO BACK IN TIME I WOULD KILL MYSELF!

Glen: Why? Things’d be better. You could fix it.

Nike: As if you could understand me. You know that? I don’t feel a thing.

Glen: You feel anger.

Nike: I feel I need to get my point across. How’s that?

Lance: Whatever man...

Scene 8: Knightfall

Location: Killer’s home

Lance and Glen stand outside the door.

Lance: Ring the damn doorbell.

Glen: You do it, damn. I’m anxious, I’ll MISS.

Lance: Oh... What’s this? Mail, huh.

Lance pulls a slip of paper taped to the wall towards himself to read it.

Lance: The door... is unlocked... Go inside, find me. If you can find the killer, you can... start the killing.

Glen and Lance walk inside the house, covering every inch of space until they step inside the bathroom, the door shutting as they walk in, and locking behind them. They bang against the door.

Nike: You guys are idiots, you know that?

Lance: Let us out. Come on man, you tricked us, let us go.

Glen: Yeah man, come on. We just wanna get to it.

Nike: Damn it, do you guys not get it? You’re not going to get out of the bathroom. There’s gas in there you know. It’s smothering you as you speak, eating away at your insides as you speak. This door isn’t sealed, if I stay here it’ll get me too.

Glen: NO! NO!

Lance: Well... Well damn it...

Nike: You guys are selfish, you guys are cruel. I kill to cause happiness. If I stop a family from breathing, they’re frozen forever in that part of their lives like a polaroid. A happy family photo. They can’t divorve, leave their kid behind, abuse anyone. They’re stuck being perfect forever.

What do you guys want? You want to destroy the family unit, and it’s so perfect. Why would you want to destroy humanity’s greatest accomplishment? Why would you want to break up the family and cause sadness in it? You don’t do anything but hurt people. I’ll never stop helping people, I’ll never stop being the good guy, and tonight you’re forcing me to be bad. I have to kill you, and I have to create a rift in your families. Do you know how hard that is for me? You guys can choke to death. You’ll never get a chance to hurt anyone. I’m breaking every rule I have for you guys... You know why, you know how, you even know when... But I’m not the dumb one, I’m still alive to do good things.

Glen and Lance choke to death on the floor, making horrible gasping noises as they lose their ability to claw at the floor.

Scene 9: No Man’s Land

Location: Classroom

The teacher stands at the front of the room preparing him/her self to speak to the class.

Teacher: As you may or may not know, two of our classmates went missing last night. Glen and Lance. If you have any idea where they might be, it is important you speak to the police immediately and directly.

Final shot of Nike sitting with no emotion on his face.
