My altruistic intentions
Are just a reflection
Of what I want from someone
To love and to hold.

My deep resignation
Is that this is I’ll find no salvation.
And that will be it
And I’ll be alone.

A heart beat, a patter,
And the silence does shatter.
And my heart on my sleeve
Is soaked with cold tears.

The tears are near frozen
From being so old and
The past is long gone
And now I must grow.

To find another
A brand new lover
Is a scary idea and
It’s what I want most.

My soul is forgiven
And my life now is driven.
I demand my happiness
And I’m now moving on.
