Long Time No See
Sam and Jasper walked out of the movie theater, feeling a deep sense of content and hardly remembering what the movie was about. The only thing that Jasper remembered was Sam's quick and rapid breathing as he grazed his lips around Sam's sensitive spots: the nape of his neck, and the small hollow behind his ears. They had been going out for a few weeks now, and Jasper was a quick learner. He knew about Sam's little secrets and particular areas where he loved to be kissed. The way Sam would close his eyes and sigh was definitely something to remember.
Sam's case was a little different. He was slowly growing to love the fact that he was confident at kissing Jasper. His slight homophobia was now a thing of the past. After all, the physical act of kissing was a pleasure that always eradicated his fears anytime. Sam decided that kissing Jasper overruled his fear of getting caught with a boy. The pleasure was very hallucinative.
"Sam, I'm hungry," Jasper moaned, rubbing his stomach.
"And?"
"Let's go get something to eat," his boyfriend concluded.
They were walking around the strip mall with absolutely no destination. The movie had ended before school had even finished. They had about an hour left to kill.
Sam stopped walking and looked around him at the scant food venues. There was a seafood restaurant (too expensive), a diner (maybe), and a pizza parlor a few shops away from where they were standing.
"Diner, or pizza parlor?" Sam asked out loud. He turned to look at Jasper with a questioning glance.
"I don't know. Whichever one's cheaper, I guess," said Jasper, shrugging.
"Pizza, then?"
"Nah, I want a milkshake. I've heard that they have great milkshakes at the diner."
"Fine, the diner then," Sam concluded and shrugged. He really didn't care where they went to eat. He wasn't all that hungry anyway.
They walked past the pizza parlor to the edge of the parking lot. Jasper kept brushing his fingers against Sam's hand, blatantly urging him to hold his hand. Sam didn't even look at Jasper as he wrapped his fingers slowly, intertwining them with Jasper's. Jasper glanced at him and smiled, squeezing his hand. Sam quickly looked away, blushing. There was hardly anyone walking on the sidewalks, and the parking lots were half empty. But most importantly, Sam was feeling a little braver than usual.
As they were walking slowly, Sam reached his hand into his pocket and thumbed the plastic face of the photo strip that they had taken at the arcade. He pulled it out to take a quick glance at it when someone called out his name.
Sam stopped walking and turned around. Jasper did the same. They both saw a tall young man with dark hair and pale skin. He was wearing a dark red shirt that read "Paul's Pizza Parlor" and an emerald green apron with a picture of a pepperoni pizza on the front. The man looked at Sam and grinned broadly.
"Sam! It's been such a long time! How's mom and dad doing? Is he still made at me?"
Sam quickly let go of Jasper's hand, staring at his older brother in disbelief.
Of all the places that they could've run into. This town was just too small.
