Hello Kari
(Revenge!)
by: Marvin Burshik
Hello Kari liked the rain, though prefered to stay out of it. Oftentimes she spent her time in a tree watching the rain pour. Along with the rain came another thing she liked, lightning; it was destructive, much like she felt on her bad days and today was one of those days.
Earlier this morning she was sleeping in the new thinking shelter Ignorant Rena built for her, trying to stay out of the rain. Then as she was asleep, some fool came by, moved her out of the box, and took the container away.
More than anything the small brown furred rabbit hated being touched, and this thief, whoever he was, did more than simply touch her, he carried her some distance out into the rain. He made one critical mistake other than that though, he left footprints to follow.
The tracks lead Hello Kari straight into the nearby town of Ergatz, the city of greed. It was full of pickpockets and robbers abound, but they weren't of her concern, she was here for the one who touched her.
She knew that the webbed footed creature had to be large enough to be able to transport her thinking box, but other than that, she had no clue what she was in for.
A foolish young fox cub saw Hello Kari and tried eating her, getting its jaw pierced in the process.
"Don't touch me!" she exclaimed as it dropped her to the ground, whimpering in pain.
She hopped away a few feet and saw a rather large mammal with a beaver-like tail panting heavily over a intricately carved wooden box.
"I'm gonna make a fortune selling this desk. hah sniff, sniff I could almost swear I can smell that cursed bunny. But of course it's raining, I can't smell a thing!"
She chuckled lightly and thrust herself upon his back, spearing him, though not doing much.
"Oww! Get off my back you spiky creature! Huh?"
He turned around and swung her off his back, but was unable to maintain his stamina.
After hopping back onto her feet she saw that he was a platypus.
"Ooh, look at your webbed paws, so you did touch me! They were bleeding recently weren't they? Heh, heh, heh."
His eyes narrowed, "You're that cursed bunny! pant It doesn't matter, other than those spikes of yours you can't do anything. This box is too heavy for even me to lift."
She scoffed, "As if you could do much lifting with those paws. Time to pay!"
"Huh, huh, huh, 'ello Hello Kari. Who you friend? Huh, huh, Rena see you upset."
Both surprised by this sudden interruption they both turned to look at the beaver.
Hello Kari grumbled.
"I need a new name. Sheesh."
"What the? Who are you?"
The beaver waddled over to the wooden box, and sniffed it.
"Huh, huh, huh, I think box maker. Rena the beaver, need a lever? Huh, huh, this is Hello Kari's why it here?"
She growled at his ignorance, "Grah! He tried to steal it from me. But even worse he touched me! No one touches me and gets away with it!"
The platypus took this odd opprotunity and smacked her with his tail, "Ah hah! No one gets in Rascal Durian's way! This desk is mine!"
Ignoring him Ignorant Rena picked up the box and put it on his sled, then slowly began walking back out of town.
"Huh, huh, huh, Rena nice. Ras'al Durian take, not his. Huh, huh, I take it back to Hello Kari think spot."
Panting heavily the rascally platypus attempted to charge after Ignorant Rena, but was interceded by a set of sharp furry spikes.
"I'm not done with you yet fool! You touched me, and thought you could get away with it!"
Not liking how things were turning out he turned around and tried to hobble away, but tripped.
Seeing this pitiful sight she growled again, but decided he wasn't worth the trouble.
"You'll be in far worse pain next time we meet Rascal. So you better play it smart and stay away. If you so much as attempt touching me again, you're a goner."
She hopped away and left him to the thieves who were already setting to pounce.
When she eventually got back to the fields outside town she found Ignorant Rena lowering the thinking box next to the muddy hole that she had previously made.
Cursing his kindness she jumped into the box and went to sleep, knowing he was the one person who, though ignorant, wouldn't bother her now.
