One Day

The darkness drips, venom from the sky

I look to you, the moon to my sun

But you’re no longer shining brightly

To illuminate the darkness

Gone, swallowed by its touch

So sweet its caress is and you’ve fallen prey

Lost in nothingness

Dead eyes and an empty heart

I wonder if the sun will ever rise

To break the blackness

Because you, my love, have failed me

Drifting in that eternal sea of black

Left me fearing what will become of me

Without the moon to light my way

Will I be weak like you,

Or find the power to keep struggling against this?

One day this game will end, all will be smothered

The apocalypse is coming

I don’t think I can survive

Without you by my side

Hate burns under my skin

Taking away everything that was mine

The thought is enough, half wishing to be swallowed too

Or give in to these wicked thoughts of revenge

Detach myself of emotion, deaden my eyes,

And complete my blood lust should the sun refuse to rise
