We lost that blessed, beloved insanity.

We lost that blissful audacity.

We lost that path we knew so well.

We’re blind to the roadsigns directing us to hell.

We forgot our stories. We forgot our souls.

We forgot our bliss in the face of their goals.

We forgot that high mighty wind at our backs.

We can’t even remember what our new life lacks.

Something is here that we can reclaim.

I know our loves will never be the same.

Too much separates us, and memories lie.

But we can remember. We can only try.

We can find a new way to sanity.

We can live without all this depravity.

We can get back on that path to hell

and belt out that tune we still know well,

and maybe build a new soul

to take the place of the one we lost.
