A Farewell of Sorts

Author's Note: I haven't uploaded anything in awhile, and so here I am publishing something I wrote for a project some months ago.

Dry are the tears I had shed for you

Gone are the memories that I once knew

Dull are the stars that I wished upon

Wearily hoping that I’d move on

Lost is the heart that once was mine

To which we know it’ll never be fine

Fake are the smiles you give to me

The one you swore that set you free

At peace is where you’ll find me now

Done is the play, I’ve taken my bow

Held high is my head, my heart is set

You are the one I am willing to forget
