Hey Hey! this is a story that I've had in mind for a while, a long while it apears looks at papers I got the original character concepts in y head in 2004 so that would have made me ten or eleven. Oh well, that doesn't really matter. This is was originally planned to be a manga, but I can't draw. I'm not sure how this will work out as a written story, due to prronoun problems with themain character. This takes place before the main story by about a month or so, focusing on three characters who, while not being the main character of the story, are almost equally important. Have fun reading. Kyou::Prologue::Suishou no Ame::Crystal Rain

Running.

Heavy breathing.

Splashing.

It's raining.

Kanisuru Akira's breath was coming in short gasps. Every nerve in his body was burning, but he didn't stop, couldn't stop. He had to get as far away as he could. He had to... his legs gave out under him, causing him to fall to his knees on the rain darkened stones of the road. His dripping brown hair falling haphazardly on his face, obscuring his green eyes, eyes that just hours before had been brimming with happiness and love. Now though, the happiness in his eyes had been replaced by fear and sadness.

“Akira...”

The boy said nothing his eyes glazed over with unshed tears.

“I'm so sorry Akira. I should have been watching more carefully.”

This time, Akira did respond, not in words but in a thought.

“It's not your fault, Kai.” this was accompanied by a shake of his head. “It's mine, ours, if I hadn't have been so...”

“What ever you do, don't blame your self. It's not Raiyo's either, It's all that bastards fault. He's the one who...”

“Kai?”Akira didn't like silence, it scared him. Silences from his other half were worse

“I can kill him for you, If you let me. Will you, Akira?”

“No! No matter how bad someone is, they don't deserve to die.” this was an opinion that Kanisuru Akira would keep for years to come, even when he forgot the reason why.

“You're too soft, 'Kira. You-” the sound was cut off suddenly.

“Someone's coming.”

“Who?”

“I'll leave this to you...” the voice cut off, the presence vanishing almost entirely.

“Wha- Kai?!”

“Akira? Is that you? What are you doing out here?” A concerned Itsuki Raiyo(1) asked from under his umbrella.

Akira looked up at him with tears trailing down his face. The umbrella fell to the ground with a light splash as it landed in one of the many puddles on the street.

“Akira...” Raiyo's lied his hand against the soaked blue fabric covering Akira's shoulder. “What happened?”

“He found out, Papa did. He saw me doing magic. Papa hit me, he says that I'm not fit to live. Can you imagine it, Rai? That I'm not fit to even exist. I... Papa is... Papa is...” sobs racked his small frame.

Raiyo removed his hand from Akira's shoulder and pulled the boy into a tight hug that contained all the emotions that he had for the sobbing form in his arms, emotions that the boy did not even know the other possessed for him, but that was alright, Akira was better of not knowing.

“Shh. Shh. It's alright. Let's get you inside, you'll catch a cold if you're not careful.”

“What are we going to do Rai? What?”

“We'll go. The world outside of your sight is beautiful. We might be able to live out there and not get caught up in all of this mess.”

“I don't want to be scared anymore.”

“You wont have to be.”

“That'll be nice, Rai” Akira snuggled up to Raiyo's chest.

“That'll be nice...” his eyes closed and his breathing became even and slow.

“That's right, Akira. Sleep. I'll get everything figured out by morning.

He picked up the smaller boy effortlessly, as if he weighed almost nothing.

The lightening flashed. The torrent of rain turned in to crystals

Because that is just how the world is.
