Captured in a Photograph

I. blank portrait of an empty room
a scenery of my own heart
my silent whispers beyond the heavens
echo beneath the skies – I only hear

II. hoping for salvation from above
wishing for affection from love
at cupid’s feet I bow down
& wish for a bright tomorrow – with you

but I’m still here & you’re still there
one of us is in the wrong place
Yet, no matter how distant
I know you’re just there while I’m just here

while I’m waiting, praying

chorus - it’s an illusion of faded memories
a life I try my best to live by
& these shards of what’s left of me
I give to you – my sweet (2x)

III. a feeling that’s forbidden
a love I can’t allow to grow
even if laws are broken & no more limits
hesitation ends it all
(, chorus)

Bridge – so apart, so alone
I’m kept unable, I’m still missing you
left only to remember a photograph
- a photograph of a wish
(, chorus)

you’re my only smile,
captured in a photograph
