It was the day of the dead in Mexico.A time where there are parades games and the honoring of the dead. Out of respect the celebrations ended at midnight to respect the spirits that are coming out of all the gloomy tombstones at the cemetery. Everyone went home but a fifteen year old boy who was not part of the celebration. He was just deep in thought sitting at the same tree that he always did as a child to think on everything that he ever did wrong. It was a peacefully after all the celebrations ended. The night was calm, a gentle breeze passed by and the moon and the stars shined brightly lighting up the eerie cemetery that looked back at the boy. “Its time” he said as he stood up and started walking towards the cemetery. All that could be heard was the clinging of his sword into the ground. His red shirt and jeans where the only things that where colorful inside the cemetery. He felt as though the statues were staring back at him the ones that did one year ago.

Cold sweat started to drip down his face as the memory of one year ago came back to him. The night was the same way was calm and as peaceful. Him and his friend margarita were walking back home from all the festivities. “Hey Anthony” said the girl softly to break the silence “yea margarita” he said back to her. She looked at him and then said “what have you been thinking about” she asked him “nothing he responded and they kept on walking until they reached the cemetery Anthony stopped and so did she. “Let’s go through here” he told her she looked at the cemetery and then back at him “no I’m scared”. He just looked at her and said “don’t worry I will protect you” she looked at him and smiled and took his hand. So they started to walk into the cemetery.

They looked around and saw a lot of food that was laid out for the dead as it was the tradition in Mexico. “I’m getting a bad feeling lets go back” said margarita as she held tighter into his hand. Anthony kept on walking just looking around at the tombstones “don’t worry he said as he to her as he himself started to be scared. “We are almost out” he said as the night all of a sudden got colder “its freezing” said margarita as her body started to tremble. “Yea why did it get cold all of a sudden” he thought as he felt her more closely to him. “Lets hurry out of here” he said taking her hand and walking towards the exit but in the middle of the cemetery there was a statue. The statue was big and it looked like a man in his mid 30’s holding a sword and under the mans feet seemed to be a demon. “well that is different” said margarita as he backed away from the statue “lets get out of here please” she said to Anthony he just looked at the statue and started to back away but all of a sudden the wind was blowing so hard that they could not keep their eyes open as they felt knives of cold ice going through their body. “What’s going on” said Anthony as he tried to hold on to margarita.

The whistling of the wind was broken with the sound of thunder as the lightning hit in front of them. They both looked up and they saw a shadow through the smoke and the lightning ceased. Slowly the smoke disappeared just to leave both teens in shock. A creature with white hair and red eyes stared back at them. The creature seemed to be a mixture of a human and something that is just can’t be described. Margarita recognized it as the demon that the man of the statue had slain. “I want to go home lets go” said margarita and Anthony didn’t hesitate.
He ran ahead of margarita taking her hand and pulling her away from the creature. “this has to be a dream” he thought as he ran at full speed almost dragging margarita behind him. The demon just laughed and jumped from tombstone to tombstone cracking each on that he landed on. Margarita just screamed and Anthony’s heart pounded as the demon landed in front of them. In a swift movement Anthony was sent back letting go of margarita like a rag doll flew into the tombstones. As Anthony lain in the ground he heard margarita scream and the demon hold on to her. “Let her go” yelled Anthony as he got up. The demon laughed at him and a raspy voice as though it had never drank water before told Anthony “no you may not have her back” it paused “you are weak” Anthony forgot about the pain he had or even the fear.

He Picked up a stick that was lying on the cold ground and ran towards it. The demon smirked and struck the boy down with one hand. “Help me” yelled margarita. The demon just laughed “let me go” she said as she tried to fight him off but to no avail. The demon looked at Anthony. “Son comes back next year when you are stronger if you want her back” the night was silent as Anthony lay on the ground letting the words sink in. As he lay on the cold ground. Anthony found himself at the exact spot where it had happened as he came back into reality. He stood looking around he knew that everything he had ever trained for. All the lies he said about margarita disappearance. It was the time to fight back. A Hatred arose from him like never before. Then all of a sudden the same coldness consumed him.

He pulled out his sword and he held it sturdy. Waiting for the next sign to happen “I will save you” he said as he waited for the thunder and lightning but it never came. Then a second later the earth beneath him started to shake. Anthony could barely hold himself up from all the shaking that the ground underneath him produced. “What the he” he said under his breath as he fell to the ground. He looked around and noticed that some of the graves were duged up and he noticed at least that five of them had been duged up. The ground stopped shaking so he got up. Anthony looked around and didn’t see the demon or margarita anywhere. This night became quite again but an Eire type of quite Anthony took a step forward but stopped because he heard a noise behind him.

Like something of a rattle. Anthony just turned around in time to see a skeleton jump at him from behind. He could feel its sharp claws sink into what would have been his neck but it was actually sunk into his arm. Blood dripped from his arm. He was so terrified that he didn’t even let out a scream from the pain, Anthony punched the skeleton of him it feel and cracked into pieces. Another one appeared in front of him running at him. Anthony destroyed it with one swipe of his sword. The clinging sound of his sword in the bone cracked the silence of the night. Anthony just stood there waiting as he spotted two more coming at him.

He placed his sword in front of him waiting for them to strike. All the fear had left his body. Both skeletons ran at him. He swung his sword into one of them but it moved out of his way and stuck at Anthony’s back. The pain was as the knife but not as bad. The second skeleton hit him right into his gut Anthony fell over but he managed to hit one of them causing them to fall. The last one swiped his hand at him but Anthony blocked it with his sword and returned the favor by kicking its leg off and cracking it down. Anthony got up but he stager he could feel the pain and blood freely flowed out of him. “Common” he said into the night “I am here come out” he yelled. Anthony stopped his yelling as he could hear applauding in the distance. In a split second Anthony ran towards the sound. “I’m coming” he said as he passed the place where they met the demon. As he got closer he stopped as an old chapel looked back at him it was old and ruined down. He walked in as the moon light up the room he looked around and saw the demon and right next to him margarita tied to the alter.

“Good you have come” said the demon as he laughed some more. “Give her back” said Anthony in an annoyed voice. The demon ran at Anthony. By this time Anthony was ready and he waited for the right moment as he swung his sword at the demon the demon jumped and punched Anthony in the face. Anthony retaliated by taking his free hand and send a punch straight at the demons side but it moved to the side and kneed Anthony right into his gut. Anthony gasps for air as he felt the demons cold hand collide into his face sending him to the wall and into the ground. “Your pathetic” said the demon in a disgusted voice “your grandfather was much stronger then this”.

Anthony looked up in his pain in shock. “My grandpa stopped you before” he asked. The demon just looked at him “yes he did and your whole family will pay” said the demon. Anthony stood up to one knee and with gasping breath he said “No will not let you harm her” the demon ran towards Anthony in a flash and kicked him straight in the face. Anthony was send flying into the chapel’s wall. The force of the impact caused the wall to tumble down on him. " This is pathetic" said the demon in an annoyed voice "from what I heard your family is suppose to be the strongest demon killers alive".

"Darn it” thought Anthony as he tried to get up but his body took a beating. "This demon isn't stupid he is not giving me a chance to attack" Anthony taught as he crawled back up. The rocks slipped of his back each one causing him pain. "Stupid boy” said the demon as he walked towards Anthony” you should have stayed down" Anthony looked up at it” Why won’t you die" Anthony said as he got to his feet and charged at the demon. The demon smiled as he saw Anthony coming at him " you never learn " the demon said as took a defensive stance. " take this " Anthony said as he swung his right hand straight at the demon. It blocked it with his left hand and with his right hand he uppercut Anthony sending him to the floor landing on his back. Quickly the demon jumped in the air and slammed his foot into the boy’s ribs. Anthony spit out blood.

The demon looked straight down at Anthony. "Weakling" the Demon said "how do you expect to save the girl when you can’t save yourself". "Margarita" thought Anthony as he felt his whole body burning up. "Don’t worry though ill put you out of your misery" said the demon with a cold voice. The demon walked to Anthony’s side " you don't even have to see me burn her alive". The demon kneeled besides Anthony and lifted his hand up in the air and with the other hand lifted Anthony’s head of the floor. "Like your grandfather you can take a beating but he still boated me" said the demon "now die".
Anthony briefly opened his eyes and from the corner of his eyes spotted his sword on the ground. As the demons hand came towards his's neck Anthony picked up the stone and stabbed the demon in its rib before He could Finnish the attack. “No” said the demon as it burned up “it can’t be the sword is purified”. Anthony smirked “yea I know it belong to my grandpa” the demon was turned into ashes. Anthony slowly got up the night was once again quite as he walked towards margarita and woke her from what seemed to be a long slumber “huh” she said as Anthony looked at her and started to untie her. “I knew you would come” she said as she was finally untied and sat up. Anthony placed his sword back into its sheet and margarita jumped into his arms.

The end.
