A Real Man(Father's Day poem)

A freeverse by Tears of Deathwishxxx

My advice: I believe in free money granted by the courts if you use my material without my credit, so I advise against stealing my work.

He woke up and looked at his alarm clock

Three more hours until it was time for work

He went in his son's room when he heard him ask

"Dear Jesus, why did You want with Mommy? Why did she go to Heaven?"

He walked in and said

"Son, I asked Jesus the same question a long time ago."

The son asked,

"What did He say?"

The father looked upon his son, who had spent the last three years at night praying.

He scratched his rugged beard as he racked his mind and heart for an answer.

But found none.

He just looked at his son who looked back at him with wondering eyes and finally said,

"Thanks, Pop.

Jesus told me that you would mean a lot to me and He was right. I love you."

Author's Note:

This is the first time in about a year that I've actually written poetry. College occupies me. Read and review.
