Don't cry little one, it's just the end
close your eyes child, let's pretend:
that daddy really loves you
that uncle really cares
that mommy is getting better
from her blank and vacant stares.

Please don't cry, precious one, those salty tears,
wipe your eyes, your mouth and away your fears:
it's a waste to pour your heart out
a shame to sacrifice your soul,
for a love that will leave you broken
trying to find the pieces, but never really whole.

So don't fret darling, just look into this mirror,
it's just my reflection, my voice all you hear:
close your little eyes and sleep
cross your heart, hope to die,
and as I walk out the door remember
my love for you was just a lie.
