Dreamer

Drifting in on the night breeze,
a slipper of moonlight,
shining through the shadows.
In my slumber it gently creeps,
and whispers into my unhearing ears.

I journey into the violet heavens,
a multitude of luminous lights
there to greet me.
Into the depths of starlight I venture,
the wispy clouds beneath my feet.

As the first golden ray
breaks through the haze of darkness,
everything begins to melt away.
The deep indigo of the night fades to gold,
and so my dream drifts away in the morning light.
