The empty hallways lined in blue

unlocked and lonely metal once

cradling the listless words of lies and knowledge.

Abolished kisses die on lips

singing scathing remarks and crude melodies

the beauty of youth is lost to our generation.

We long for else

that something else, that someone else

that somewhere else

to fulfill the gaping holes in our hearts and heads.

The avarice of my generation

coalesces with the apathy

to form some sort of daring monster

spewing unfiltered profanity

into the mindless mainstream.

Fill your mouth with the burning

Listerine of truth, my dear

for only this will save you

swish, swirl and spit out the acrid

foul taste life has left on your tongue.
