As this story is about a made up country there are quite a few things that you might not understand when you read it, so this is just to explain a few people and places. I will add to it as the story continues!

Nienna – a young elf escaping from the army who ransacked her village

Alassë – nienna’s friend

Aredhel- nienna’s horse

Idril- elven queen

Orodreth- elven king

Nessa Helyanwë - nienna’s foster mother

Places

Gilraen – elven kingdom

Lolindír – the elven king’s city

Ar-Feiniel – corrupted city of humans and elves. The two peoples could not live in harmony together; it was forbidden by the elven Script. When men and elves tried to form an alliance and started living in the same city, they became corrupted by greed and selfishness which still exists in the city today. Anyone who lives there is affected by it

Beren – small elven village where Nienna lived before it was ransacked
