She lays half-awake, eyes closed...relishing his presence in hers, even though he's now showering in the other room. She can still feel it. It's like hot honey encapsulating her heart...full of heat, and sweetness, and love. Someday...she knows she'll have him every day and they'll be together forever.
Her golden locks drape over the pillow she rests upon, with the impression of his body carved out beside her in the blankets. Sighing, she turns over and awaits his return. They're going on a picnic...a pizza picnic by the lake today, at a lovely little park on the west side of the city. When she looks at him, so wonderously, her eyes glitter like clear ocean water on a sunny day. He's stark naked, and wet, holding the fluffy white towel in his hands. So beautiful and bare and raw. She'd give anything to hold his perfection eternally.
...Anything.
And so he holds her close after he gets dressed, and they talk of their plans for the day.
"The weather network says it's supposed to rain today though" She pouts.
"It's okay baby, we'll be close to the car just in case"
"Ok...cause I didn't bring an umbrella"
He squeezed her tighter. His wet, warm body feeling like smoldering coals up against her cold, pale skin. The wind, from the partially opened window, lightly crawling over them.
In the car the wind blew her long blonde hair roughly about her face. He brushed it gently away, and smiled at her sweetly. She smiled back shyly, and looked at her feet. She was excited.
Sitting on the park bench under a tree, gazing out onto the pond on that uncomfortably hot day...she tied her hair back and ate her cheese pizza as he ate his pepperoni. The ducks chased eachother playfully over the water, and a refreshingly cool breeze drifted over them from the lake. Once they finished, they bravely walked out into the sweltering sun, and over to the lakeshore, passing a groundhog on the way. She giggles and coos, it's so adorable! Dark clouds swirl above them in the hazy air, and rumble threateningly.
"Uh-oh, babe...it looks like rain" he says, making a worried face.
"Mhm" she says, looking off in the distance distractedly "Wanna go back to the car...go shopping now"
"No...I'm too lazy...this is nice here anyways...nice and cool"
"Ok, whatever you want princess"
This always made her smile girlishly...when he called her princess. She'd always dreamed of being someone's fairytale princess, and him being her knight in shining silver armour.
She sighed, a sigh of resolute peace.
One by one, cool drops of water fell upon their skin. As the rain hit the hot ground it steamed up around them and produced a haunting, beautiful fog. It came down harder and harder by the second, the light t-shirt she wore, now sticking to her body, seemed see-thru...and her golden hair now a slick brown colour fell in chunks around her face. He placed his arm around her lower back and brought her closer. The lake water danced and rippled in front of them.
Gorgeous...she thought.
"I've never kissed in the rain before" she burst, suddenly.
He looked at her...she was so cute. Placing his hand behind her neck, he brought his head towards her. Their lips brushed tentatively, finally sinking into a kiss. A passionate kiss. She bit his bottom lip carefully, and he licked hers hungrily. Deeper they went, forgetting everything around them. It all dissolved. They were alone anyways. Every pore of her body could feel the warmth of their kiss, sinking deeper into her each second as the rain beat down harder. He was slippery as her arms grasped him tight. She broke away slowly, not wanting to let go. And just stood, holding him. She looked straight into his bold, friendly eyes, and smiled that shy embarassed smile of hers.
As a flash lit up the sky, and a crack of thunder echoed across the lake...it was now time to go.
"Well hun" he patted her on the bottom "I think we'd better go now, the storm is picking up" "...Yeah ok"
She grabbed his now cold hand and squeezed it tight in hers. They walked back to his car, and still soaking wet, got inside. For a long moment, they sat...looking out onto the rain pounding the ashphalt before them. Their thoughts were elsewhere, but neither could find the words to express it...it felt as though he'd sucked all the pain from her heart, the air from her lungs, and now...she was simply...speechless.
