A/N: This is just a little story I wrote in the third grade after reading too much Edgar Allan Poe at 3 in the morning. It's not that great, but I was like 8. Well anyways, enjoy.
How very wrong we were.
Leo stopped talking. He started mumbling stuff under his breath. Of Course he was going to say he say the black dog again. Margery, Amanda-Jayne, and Andy just rolled their eyes at him.“I saw-” began Leo.
“Hey Leo, why don’t you just quit it? We know this black dog thing is just a joke,” said Mikey getting annoyed.
“And a very annoying one at that.” I added.
Leo looked up. He looked as if he was disgusted by what we said. Like we said something that wasn’t true.
We all stared at him. He stalked off still muttering about the black dog.
CREAK.
It was pretty late. He better head down to lock the doors before sundown.
CREAK.
Leo became anxious to get upstairs to his room.
CREAK.
Leo speeded up the steps. As he reached the 2nd floor landing he saw it. Standing at the top of the stairs was the black dog.
Before his eyes it disappeared. He rushed to his room but it was already too late. Something thumped behind him. And before he took his last breath he knew.
“Today you die.”
And he was dead.
Everybody was shocked with Leo’s sudden death. Everyone except me. I knew it would happen because…
I killed him.
