A Note From Moi: I wrote this a while ago after a break up. This is why I love poetry--it's a fantastic way to Get It Out. We all know this feeling.

"while i sit cross-legged among the ruins"

you broke
my heart
my pride
and my spirit
and they lie in black shards of obsidian glass
on the floor
like a shattered urn
and the ashes are
scattered among the glistening splinters
while i sit cross-legged among the ruins
trying to glue the pieces back together
with congealed tears
and floods of patience
