“Reflection”

Crying, sighing, am I dieing?
Defeat has finally come.
Lying, trying, now I’m flying,
And my body has gone numb.

Staring into a shattered mirror,
Broken surface, scar my face.
Oh, help me for I can’t come near
A paradisiacal space.

Stealing, healing, what’s this feeling?
And why won’t my body move?
Sealing, reeling, here I’m kneeling,
Knowing that you disapprove.

I can’t find my own reflection.
Rippling water, crashing waves.
Searching, striving for perfection:
What a crooked path it paves.
