I go home
Away from prying eyes
Safe from
Real life
I remove my mask
Piece by piece
First.
The makeup.
That hides my face
Next.
The clothes.
That give me my identity.
Then.
The defences.
That nothing can penetrate.
Finally.
The emotions.
That are never revealed to anyone.
Ever.
