Chelsea Grandow By Cecilia Cromwell

Chapter one

I step through the dark doors and stand in front of the desk. I tap my feet and snap my gum. The chair turns to face me. In the chair is a man in a pure white suit and blond hair gelled back, his eyes gray and cold like ice. My father.

"Ah, Chelsea! Nice to see you again. Go to the back and I'll speak to you later."

"But, Daddy! I need to speak with you now!" I demand. I stomp my feet on the ground in anger and my Mother comes around from the back. She's slender for her age, her hair is pure white and eyes as black as death. An odd combination if you ask me.

"Chelsea! I was worried sick! Where were you last night?!" I shrugged my shoulders.

"I was out with Dorthya. Father told me to leave so I did.". Mother looked at Father very harshly.

"What is it with you?! You send our daughter away just so you can be with your money!" Father puts up his hands in defense.

"How was I supposed to know she would spend the whole night out?!" Mother let out a grunt and stormed away to the back.

"Chelsea! Go to the back now and get ready for school!" My Father shouts. I nod my head and run to the back. It's really dark so I turn the light on. I run up the stairs to my room and take a shower.

This isn't my original home, just the place I stay while Father's at work. He stays at work, too. I've asked him why before, but he just scolded at me and told me to go to the back.

Thoughts of last night went through my head. All those hot guys and their fast cars. I really wasn't with Dorthya. I was with Jen and Carla and their boyfriends Jim and Cris. I would usually get paired up with Derick, Carla's brother, but he was sick. So I just stood around like a wall flower and watched as my friends danced the night away.

Then this group of three guys walked up to me. One was very tall, another was bleach blond, the last one was very short and a bit small to be at this club. The tall one asked, "Are you John Grandow's daughter?"

"Yes," I answered. They laughed and looked at me.

"No you're not! John Grandow doesn't have a daughter! He has no kids! He's too important too! You're a fake!" the blond one shouted.

"I am John Grandow's daughter! Want proof? I'll show you proof!" I snaped my fingers and one of the clubs guards rushed up to me.

"What is it Miss. Grandow?" he asked. The boys stopped laughing.

"Please escort these boys outside and never let them in until I say otherwise," I ordered. The boys had an expression of surprise as they were taken away.

I sat down on a chair, took in a deep breath and closed my eyes. I had a major migrain and I needed to get out of that club, but I couldn't just leave my friends here, I was the one driving them home. Someone put their hand on my shoulder and I jerked up with a little squeal.

"Sorry!" I turned my head around to see a man.

"That's alright." The man had dark brown hair and blue eyes. His body structure wasn't that large, quite normal.

"What's your name?" he asks. I thought it a bit odd to just ask my name. Doesn't everyone here know my name?

"Chelsea. But the people around her call me Miss. Grandow or Chels."

"Why do they call you Miss. Grandow?"

"Well, I can't tell you that just yet. We aren't close."

"So only close people can know your secrets?"

"No. Anyone may know my secrets. It's just my knowledge, and name I keep to myself and my father's friends" The song changed into a slow song.

"Who is your father?"

"Someone important. That's all I can tell you." My friends were walking in my direction, Cris was drunk and looked horrible. I rushed up when Jen gave me the 'time to go home' signal.

"Um, excuse me. I must take my leave. But please, call me!" I give him my cell number and run out the door to my car, the group following me. Cris vomited right before he got into my car.

"Hurry! To Cris' house! We have to get him home," Carla said. I nod and get into the drivers seat as I was the only sober one. Everyone else had a bit to drink, but Cris had a tad to much. I looked at the back as Cris vomited in my car. A lot, too much.

"Hurry!" Jen screamed. I started the car and sped down the street. Almost two minuets onto Aklan street, two cops caught my tail.

"Oh god! If they catch you-!" Jim started.

"Yea I know! I'll go to jail and so will my father!" I grabbed my cell and dialed Solon's number.

"Hello?"

"Solon! The cops are on my tail! I need a way out of this!" I shouted over the sirens.

"What did you do this time?!"

"Nothing! I'm just taking Cris home because he's too drunk. So I sped and now the cops are on me!"

"Hold on! I'll get them off!"

"Thank you, thank you, thank you! So much, Solon!" He hung up and so did I. After a few minuets the cops stopped and I made my escape.

"How does Solon do that?!" Jim asked.

"He has a police radio. And he has a voice changer thing. So he hides his voice to sound like the Chief and calls them off. So glad he works for my father," I complement.

"I'm glad, too," Carla said. Everyone except Cris agree, who vomited again.

I pull up at Cris' house, everyone says their goodbyes and I drive off.

"Chelsea! You've been in there for over an hour! Time to get out!" I turn off the water and dry off and get changed.

"Yea, Dad! Just wait!" I reply. I gather all my clothes and get out. "There now you can go in. Bye!" I say quickly as I rush off to my room. I put the dirty clothes in my hamper and flop on my bed with the current book I'm reading, Oliver Twist. I was only on chapter two but the book had already drawn me in. That's what I rely on to determen if it's a good book or not.
