Thoughts of Another
Happiness is just a teardrop away
At least that's what they say
I don't believe them
Because with each tear drop
Happiness becomes further away
And these…these are thoughts of another
I will fight the last battle
With my head held high
Knowing that for my country
I must one day die
That's what they told me, instilled in me
And these…these are thoughts of another
I want to know, I want to know so much!
And to you, it's so little.
Local news
Town sales
But to me it means the world!
To know what happens outside these barbed wires that you've condemned me to
But you can't even let me have that.
And these…these are thoughts of another
I want to help
No, something inside me wants to help
I don't
I know that my sole purpose here is to cause you pain and misery
You deserve that, don't you?
That's how the world shall be cleansed from the likes of you
Although there's something not right in it all
Is that my conscience telling me?
And these…these are thoughts of another
What differentiates us so that we cannot bond?
That we cannot show compassion?
That nothing can ever, ever, let us show that we are the same
Somehow
Some way
And these…these are thoughts joined together.
