I’m Ready To Do It

The gun is right here,

Right by my side.

To stop all the pain,

The hurt and the lies.

-

I’m ready to do it.

I’m ready to try.

-

I pick up the gun.

Stares me in the face.

There’s only one bullet.

It won’t be a waste.

-

I’m ready to do it.

I’ll not be disgraced.

-

My life has no use,

No worth and no meaning.

If I turn back now,

All I’ll get is a beating.

-

I’m ready to do it.

I’m used to the bleeding.

-

I ready my finger,

To pull that damn trigger.

I laugh at myself.

Just barely a snigger.

-

I’m ready to do it.

It won’t get much bigger.

-

My muscles pull in.

And I start to fly.

I’m headed way up,

Straight up to the sky.

-

I’m ready to do it.

I’m ready to die.
